Why do people not want to work?

I was wondering what happened to people. I know people in a lot of trades, some skilled, some not and they are all having trouble finding good help. One guy told me a while back he has it figured out, he said "everybody that wants to work already has a job". I was just wondering what people think is going on these days. I know people who can work that don't. I know people who have been fired from 5 jobs the past year. It's crazy. I've been working in the same machine shop for 24 years with just a high school diploma, you don't have to have a college education to have a good job.

Why? Some are just lazy and some are smart. I worked hard for 35 years and Im friggin done with this country. I get so sad seeing my hard earned money going to people I dont know, dont like or hate and would never ever lift a finger in my need of help.

Working from Jan to April just to pay my share in taxes is slavery pure and simple. I hate seeing my money go to lazy people or people that just dont care I had to work 4 months strait just to pay the taxes that pay, feed or support them.

How about your home? You never own it you know. Stop paying taxes for almost a year and you lose it no matter how much its worth.

It is getting worse-much worse.....too many people want what they think is free-if it comes from the government it is never free. Somebody slaved over and I dont understand why people just cant get that through their heads?

We had an opening for a warm body..no experience...starting at 30.00 ph ..40 hrs a week plus overtime. Very light work and the possibility to learn a trade to make a good living for the future. ... no takers. Had one "recovering" junkie that I took a chance with....never..ever again...

Amazing how easy it is to buy votes promising to give away tax payers money. The problem is that with some of the latest promises, there simply could never be enough money to pay for them, no matter what. But heck, what does that matter? Nothing about econonmic reality, truth or lawfulness, matters any more. With the media under complete control, it's all only about manipulating the masses.

Yet the socialist think all of this is the way it should be. Those that work their butts off should pay for those to lazy to work their way up the ladder. Should pay for all the illegal's health care, housing, food, etc,.
If all of us that work should just quit, what would the socialist do ? Who would pay for those that aren't willing to work ?

What do you tell the man with a wife and 4 kids and invalid mother in law paying his own way working for a utility company while his next door neighbor gets the same house for 3 people for $150 a month while the working lineman has 7 under the roof?

I have noticed it on a micro level too. Some people are just lazy. They take every opportunity to do nothing, rather than do some work that is always there to do. Kind of like third world disaster victims that sit around and wait for help, rather than take any initiative at all and start cleaning up.

Yet others, side step the work by shifting into a supervisory role, or just pondering the work, thinking of ways it should be done, while watching others do the heavy lifting.

I do remodeling in peoples homes and i see it all the time. parents have there 30 yr old kids living in the basement. The mother is out mowing the lawn while the lazy kid plays video games, this i blame on the parent. i have told more than one to make therekid get off ther rears and do something. They say they just wont listen. I say quit feeding them. Maybe they will leave.

I said so does Jerome Bettis and he was one of the greatest running backs in the NFL. It starts at home, you have to be a parent to your kid instead of a friend.

Another guy I know is in his early 50's. Never see him doing work outside his house, his yard doesn't get mowed, etc. He has had at least 4 jobs in the last year finishing sheetrock. I noticed a few months ago he got a new job and had a small company truck. Man did he and his g/f use it for personal use and using the company gas. I noticed last week the company truck was gone, his g/f told my wife he got fired for running his mouth. The boss told him what to do and he didn't want to do it that way. My wife said unless you own the company you have to listen to the boss. She didn't like that. Yesterday she was complaining he got another job and is only making $14 an hour compared to $25 with the truck job, my wife said he shouldn't have ran his mouth. My wife is red headed and doesn't hold anything back, lol.

All this can be fixed at the ballot box by electing people that promise free food,shelter and medical care. What's not to like about everyone can stay home to build tricycle motors,sleep or fish 7 days a week if they choose?

Interesting that the highest tax rates align with states run by ....Democrats....

That chart is misleading to say the least, you need to look at the big picture (ie-total taxation). My state (New Hampshire) is shown as having the third-highest property taxes in the country, but we have neither an income nor a general sales tax (though there is a so-called rooms & meals tax) so property taxes are the primary source of revenue. If you look at total tax burden we are the 5th lowest.

Politically, we're somewhere in the middle...neither red nor blue.

I read somewhere that the average age for kids to move out is 27. By the time I was 27 I had fought in a War, got married, had two Sons. Left home at 18.

We boomers were a lot more independent than today's generation, that's for sure. I couldn't wait to get out of the house, most of my friends were the same way. Bought my first house when I was 25.

Then again, my father lived with his parents until he got married (early 30s).
