I have some really really good news! :cool2::drink:

Yes, wedding was Saturday, I’m very slowly improving. Walking more with a cane and less with the walker. My endurance is still poor though. I had no idea this would be the ordeal it is. I drove for the first time since May yesterday, trailer needed moving and backing in to a spot and not many people are adept at that. LOL
Thanks for checking on me, feel free to post this on the forum if you want, and I’ll get an update on the forum ASAP. I have a cardiologist appointment this morning. If that’s ok I will get a detailed update together in a day or so.

I hope you guys are all doing well also. Have a good day my friend.

Randy

Great to read 🤙🤙🤙

When you guys tractor shopped, what kinds of questions did you ask the dealer prior to purchase? There's probably enough experience in this group to write a book, and I want to go in with both barrels loaded, so to speak.

Honestly, I didn't ask many questions at all. I did most of my research online for months before I ever walked into a dealership. Much of that was done right here on TBN, the reason I joined. My trips to dealerships were more of an audit of the dealer, as I already knew the details of what I wanted based on my own extensive research, and just wanted to hear what they had to say in their presentations.

The LS dealer closest to me knew less than I did about their tractors (he is actually a dairy equipment dealer who sells a tractor once in awhile), and turned out to be quite a jerk regarding parts and service. Mahindra and MF dealers were both friendly and knowledgeable, and I very nearly bought a Mahindra Max28 just based on that. The Kubota dealer never even came out to meet me. I walked around his lot for about 15 minutes looking at various models and taking pictures, then got in my car and left. Between price and the various things I'd read and experienced, I never even looked at JD.

Not a good day at all Rick. Glad you didn’t get hurt.

RNG- I never had that problem with Kaiser Permanente, but I may be one of the lucky few. With my illustrious "career" and numerous job change with the resultant changes in health care providers I managed to keep the same PCP for 40 years. He "retired" last Fall. I have had no complaints with Health New England; excepting the cost of co-pays for medications prescribed, but med costs would probably be overpriced regardless of which healthcare insurance provider with which I was enrolled. As it is I keep my insulins well refrigerated and I use them far beyond their 30 day expiration dates w/o changes in my blood sugar levels (so far). I am not looking forward to getting new "specialists" either.

$275 and I'm now the proud owner of a new rear window glass. Now the hard part ....... installation. But first, I need to clean up all the shattered glass inside the cab. Good job for my big shop vac.

The hard part, on installation, will be handling the weight of the glass itself, to get gasket / seal installed and get it bolted to the frame. I believe the glass weights nearly 70#. It took two of us to handle the box the glass came in and it would fit inside the rear seat area of my F-350 crew cab. It would just barely make it height wise but, it was about 3" too long to close rear doors. So it came home lying flat an a big piece of carpet in the bed. Anyway I hope I can get a little help from one of my neighbors.

RNG ....... you mentioned your preference for an open station tractor. While I was at the NH dealer, picking up the rear glass, the sales manager walked in. He had two black eyes, a splint looking deal over his nose, and a large bandage over his right ear?

He was cutting around some big oaks, over the weekend, on his open station NH. He caught a pretty good sized limb with his vertical exhaust pipe and when it broke, it snapped back and hit him in the face. It broke his nose and nearly ripped his ear off.

Think I'll stay with cab and get my trees limbed up.

Sorry to see that, Rick. But it just confirms my decision to purchase an open station (no cab) tractor. I'm dealing with a lot of oaks as well, and on steep hillsides to boot. I've already flattened one fender on the Kubota when I slid into one, and I don't think a cab would fare very well with that kind of treatment. I've also been hit a time or two with flying rocks and pieces of wood from the flail, and I know the glass would've been severely tested.

How's the loader working out on your LS? Any issues with mount flex or floppy arms? The XR4155 is in the same power range I'm shopping, and it would be a huge savings over a JD of the same size...

I think the only "con" on the LS loaders are their low max lift height of 96" at the pins. I had the same issue with the FEL on my previous LS XR4046HC.

I hauled many full, to running over, buckets of wet dirt, gravel, etc. with no perceivable twist or flex of the frame. Mine gets a good workout with the grapple as well.

I'm happy with FEL lift capabilities (2700#) as well as breakout force (3800#) with both 72" bucket and 73" grapple. I added a Piranha Tooth Blade, to my bucket, which really improves digging.

This picture is comparing FEL lift of my XR4046HC vs. the New Holland. The max lift height is same for the XR4155HC loader.

Does it come in any color besides orange?

The extra remote hydraulics are HOW MUCH!!!????

Can you change out the tires?

The rest was test driving and working the BH and FEL.

Back pain has almost gone away. No pain meds since last night. Mri showed slight bulge (as before). Nothing to cause my leg issues. Just got CAT scan on brain, neurologist due by sometime. Might get out, will need a walker. Legs still not working.

Neurologist says im staying another night, he hasnt got cat scan results. He did a bunch of tests on me.

BEF- I hope the CAT scan reveals what's causing your leg challenges. Good luck with the neurologist. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
