Power was off for 2 hours recently, our 22kw Generac fired right up, but only had power from sub panel B. Why would power only come from one panel?

I'm sure there HAS to be an AP for pulling that garage door release thingie. Beats having to get out of your car and maybe even break a nail.
I have a jackhaft opener but would be unable to use the door without emergency power as I have helper springs, on account of a low ceiling height and little downward slope to my door track. There is a back up battery kit for the opener, but who needs another battery to replace?

have no idea how your system is wired up.i would have to see some pics. What do you mean sub panel b

The old style when your genset can't handle 100% of the load is to install secondary panel that feeds only selected circuits. However the newer cheaper method is load sheading, Generac makes 50amp modules you install on things range and drier and they cutout when frequency drops about $125 each
Post detailed pictures of the panel layouts zoe, including closeups of any information labels. What major loads are on panel B ?
Lots of accumulated knowledge amongst the thread regulars here, and grs has installed many truckloads of Generac systems. The reason we need detailed pictures is even if everything is done to code, there can be variations as to exactly how things are set up.

An Ap to have someone come to your home to get your door open by whatever means, would not surprise me though. Guy carrying a UPS/battery pack.

So we had a bad thunder storm roll through and the power was flickering (Generator had run that morning on its weekly service...) and to my surprise... NOTHING. It wasn't kicking on. I go investigate and try to manually start it and still nothing. The 24V system is always on a trickle charger, and all I can hear is the clicking of the relay/solenoid :thumbdown:
Had my heavy diesel tech friend come out and he gets to work with the multimeter trying to find the drain that emptied the batteries in the matter of 5 hours after years of no issues. Not 100% sure what it is yet, had to get new batteries to get it some juice to start testing... there goes nearly $400
