Rear tire punctured

We have a tire shop that sends a truck for the repair cost is 50$ plus a 15$ patch. Luckily I haven't had any issues with my rear tires otherwise I would call them to come out. I have had 2 flats on the fronts from sticks/thorns easy fixes with patches. This store is rural and has a mobile fleet they work on tractors daily. I think you would try the plug if it doesn't then take it in or see if they come out. Mine are loaded ag tires so no way I'm removing a rear tire myself LOL

Got the plug in and it seems to hold. It sure is a quick way to get going again. We'll see how long it lasts but definitely worth a try.

If the tire has a tube in it and is fluid filled patching with a plug will allow fluid between the tire and the tube. If the fluid is calcium you could be creating a corrosion problem if you have leaks. So I guess the answer depends on what you have.

Do you think it's even possible to make a tube hold air using a plug?:confused3: I assumed from the start it was tubeless.

No but the tire then holds the air. The reason I know this is because I DID IT. I left it that way for a year or two until I had the time to get it fixed right. I had to pump it up every few months.

If it has a tube, you can plug the hole in the tire, but it will leak out around the stem...

Exactly. In a pinch do it to get the tractor out of the field or wherever, but it should get done right as soon as possible. On tubeless I would plug patch it in a heartbeat and leave it unless there is an issue.
