Wifey broke her glasses last night, so today will entail finding an optometrist and hopefully new glasses. Has anyone used CostCo eye center? How fast is the turn around on.

I got my last pair of glasses from Sams Club. The lenses are Zeiss. Processing place is about 5 miles away. 2 day service. If you need glasses today. Go to Lens Crafters. 1 to 2 hours for new glasses. Hang on to your wallet.

I just read the indictment listing the charges against the rich parents who bought access to top name colleges through bribes, often without
their kids even knowing it was going on.
The end does not justify the means and these parents are now facing serious federal charges, huge fines and imprisonment for this fraud.
25 million bucks paid in bribes between 2011 and 2018.
I'd like to see these crooks explain to their kids why they thought dishonesty was the best policy.
Shameful.

47 and windy, dry and cool, hit 50 mid afternoon. Warmer the next few days. Didn’t do too much today, but I have a busy day tomorrow.
Took a ride in the Monte Carlo yesterday, probably could have done something more productive, but I didn’t.
I’m sure I did something today, but apparently nothing important, other than pick up my grandson.

Have a good evening guys. Prayers to all.

Day was nice here. But still to much ice around to safely wander around outside. Today ended up being another conserve energy day.

A friend of mine just got glasses from America’s Best, in Brighton. $69 for 2 pairs + eye exam. He’s happy with it.

Bill- Thanks for sharing. Proof that even with chains and 4WD one can get a tractor stuck in deep snow. It looks like you tried to crab out using your FEL. 100's maybe 1000's of hours of operation w/o any incidents and then getting stuck for an audience.:embarrassed:

I could see that happening here with the drainage ditches along the driveway.

That is the first time I've been stuck since I put the chains on. There is the proof that chains are not the end all, be all of tractoring.

That is the part that wasn't plowed all winter. I was trying to widen out the area so I could get to the snow in front of the house. Especially the stuff off the roof that always threatens the front window.

It was a nice day here. Got to 46 with plenty of sun. Next couple of days are to be mild.

For the chainsaws, rather than carry a box around, I picked up a tool a number of years ago that I can only describe as the Leatherman style chain saw tool. Sockets, screwdrivers, hook to clean the bar, etc built into one tool that fits in a pouch. I even tend to use it when doing maintenance. For anything else I need, I have a surplus military shoulder bag thing for each saw that has anything unique to that saw. I even carry the sparechain in the bag.

Between the multi tool and the bag for each saw, I can pack light when I am cutting wood, always have what I need for each saw, and have yet to need something besides what I have with me. I like that.

Condolences to those who need them

Bill- All's well that ends well. I am glad it ended well. It's obvious you have a sense of humor.

Rich- I am envious. No matter how I tried I was always ending up missing something that I needed.

My wifes aunt passed this morning. Waiting to hear about arrangements. Her mom thinks it might be immediate family only, which is ok by me.

Condolences.

That would be more entertaining than 198÷66.

:)

Well, I may have finally killed the John Deere mower yesterday. Since getting the zero turn, the Deere's job had been reduced to mulching leaves in the fall, and mowing the part of the side hill where I've left the yuccas to spread, and need something narrower to mow between them once or twice a year since the tractor and bush hog won't fit. Got the mowing about done, but each time coming up hill was slower...finally it would not back in reverse, and no longer had the transmission strength to come back up the hill. Maybe this morning after cooling off it will move. Otherwise, I'll take the tractor down to pull it back. 828 hours and 15 years, so got my money's worth on their 100 series lowest-end yard machine.

Before you throw it away, change out the transmission oil to gear lube. You'll probably have to remove it to do it. They recommend up to 50 weight, but I've read that some guys have extended the life with 80-90 wt gear oil.

Unfortunately I attended the funeral of my cousin's son yesterday. He was only 29, married 2.5 years and lost a battle of Colon cancer. As funeral's go it was very nice and good to catch up with relatives I haven't seen in years.

Prayers for all those in need, have a nice day.

Condolences, waaay too young. Prayers for all cancer patients.

This thread helps me stay grounded, as balanced as possible, and put life in perspective.

My + thoughts, prayer, and wishes.

Me too Jay. Me too. Don't forget about decompression. :)
