Ecofans stove top fans??

Had one maybe 15 years ago that did operate fine for 6 months or so and then just quit turning one day. After asking questions about why it quit there seemed to be a consensus of opinions that exposure to overly high temperatures of a very hot stove or perhaps just heat over time, they just don't last. Hopefully that problem has been solved and you can become a satisfied customer. Let us know how it works out for you. I would buy one again for the convenient distribution of heat it provided when it was running.

I had one that worked okay and lasted a while on my soapstone stove, it doesn't get as hot as a cast or steel stove, probably why it lasted longer but with that said, I went to a convection blower mounted to the bottom backside with a heat shield , it blows up and over the stove, works perfect. I didn't want electric but there is no beating it..

Yeah my neighbor buddy was all proud of his $15 stove-top fan also. It barely moved any air. Just a finger-whacking gimmick that is destined to fail within a few years.

My BigAss 5' haiku ceiling fan is only a handful of watts to run on low, and easily distributes all the air in my great room.

Once the novelty wears off, you値l be bored with it. It does not move any significant air.

I bought one for my Y2K plans. I don't think it moves enough air to be worth the price. Plus, they are so tiny in design, that they kind of seize up from ash. I have to keep coaxing mine to start. My Ex GFs next BF worked at the company that makes them and I got another for free, brand new in the box. I don't feel they are that effective to even use one, acquired for free. Just my 2 cents worth.

I run a ceiling fan and if push came to shove, I would grab a quiet computer fan. I just got the Ecofan for use in the absense of power.

I have a large stove in my work shop and have a wall mounted garbage picked 12" (or so) fan aimed at the stove top and it makes a HUGE difference.

No ash from my propane stove.

I will agree that they are a novelty item. However, they do circulate the air, just not to the extent of a larger fan. If I want to blow air into another room I use the same 12" fan that I use in summer.
This is only the third winter that I've had mine but it still works well.

We also use a ceiling fan in the same room to circulate the heat.
