Looking into ecofans that set on your wood burner, pellet, gas stoves. They run with no electricity just the heat from they stove.Any suggestions? The Ecofan brand made in Canada seems like a quality product.

Had one maybe 15 years ago that did operate fine for 6 months or so and then just quit turning one day. After asking questions about why it quit there seemed to be a consensus of opinions that exposure to overly high temperatures of a very hot stove or perhaps just heat over time, they just don't last. Hopefully that problem has been solved and you can become a satisfied customer. Let us know how it works out for you. I would buy one again for the convenient distribution of heat it provided when it was running.

I've had mine for two years. Even after getting knocked several times off the top of the stove it still works great. My neighbor saw it and liked it so much he went out and bought a similar one off Ebay, or one of those sites. Of course he paid less and his is better than mine.

You mean like this:

I was given one, but I have a fireplace insert, and the only place to put the fan was on the top of the surround that frames the insert into the fireplace opening. It only gets to 150-170 degrees, and it would slowly spin the fan. Not enough to move any air in the room. Gave it to my dad for his stove, and it moves a lot more air. He has had it for 3-4 years now.

Interesting. Never heard of such a thing. Looks to just the thing if you burn wood.

I've had one for over five years. So far, so good. It does a good job of creating a small current that helps distribute the heat throughout the room. It's the eco fan original model. I bought it from Lehman's out of Kidron, Ohio.

What I really like about mine is that I can get up in the morning and tell if there's enough heat to get the fire going, or just turn the electric heat on. As long as the blades are moving there's enough heat left. If not it's a cold start, and might take a couple of hours to get a good enough fire to heat the house.

i checked into one but i have seen a lot of reviews where people say that you have to manually start the fans in motion - they will not do it by themselves, and that it take a really hot stove to get them to turn too - and they said HOT. and not everyday soes one have an extremely hot stove. so i didn't invest in that. i also have humiddifiers that move the air as such. i also use the ops for 2 water pots for humidity and one of the fans would take up too much area. 2 cents.

You're reading the wrong reviews. I have never had to start my fan. The blades begin to spin when the fire is barely going, and will keep turning as long as the stove top is warm.
