Husqvarna 550xp repaired-ish

That guy in the video is up Canada. Right now I have 5 gal of used tractor trans oil that I want to use, but veggie oil sounded like a cheap alternative to $12.00/gal of bar oil.

Then at both hardware stores and especially the first store, they really like to push that $20.00/gal ethanol free gas, why all of a sudden ethanol gas is bad for a saw, whether it is or isn't there's no way I'm paying $20.00/gal for gas. I have two Jonsereds that are 15 and 20 years old, best starting saws this side of the Mississippi. So I'll just get some gas additive if I have any issues.

I notice a bunch of local stations getting ethanol free gas from Canada and it sells for $3.20 a gallon. Not bad.

I've been using it for many years, it's good stuff...

I will NOT run E gas in any of my saws!!

And it's gonna get worse with this E15 crap they're pushing. I have no alternative to e gas except to pay 12 bucks a gallon for non e in 1 or 5 gallon containers. The scumbag legislatures we have in this state made sure of no choice in the matter at the pumps.

I have non E 91 octane gas at the station down the street. I bring my cousin about 50 gallons a year, it's $3.10 a gallon right now, he lives in North Smithfield.

The price of NO E gas here goes up and down... Mostly it stays between $3.50 and $4.00, it's all premium gas...

I buy it in Madison when I'm down that way from "Bobs Cash Fuel". They truck it around the state I believe. You have to call them to get there price but it should be no more than $3.50 a gallon.

My old 550xp has got it's final notice today. I called the cracker jack saw mechanic where I left it Sat. he took it apart today and said it had a total bering failure on both sides, said not worth fixing at over $300.00. I told him I'll come down next Sat and go from there, maybe I'll just go ahead buy the Echo 501p at $469.00, kinda like to have two go to saws........

It's worth it to call before you go, This place in Madison has a truck that goes to Jackman once a week and unloads at the camps up here for all the snowmobiles to use.

Picked up my old 550xp from the saw shop, now it's a jig saw puzzle with no directions for reassembly, so I listed it on ebay, first time I ever put something on there for sale, I dont even know how to ship the the thing yet, might have to get my son to help. The last two pictures is what I want to ship the saw in, the same box the saws hop put it in, think that will work.

Sold and shipped and to think the chainsaw dealer wouldn't give me a nickel, their loss and my gain toward another saw. I almost decided to keep the 550xp for parts for my new 550xp, now I hope I dont break something on it. I think when I get my new saw on order I'll beat on that instead of the expensive 550xp.

The updated and suppose to me improved mark 2 550 suppose to be in the shops Mar 16th for sale. Stuff they learned on the 572 appears in the MII 550.

The 501p saw just showed up tonight, I'll un-box it this Saturday and fire it up then I give my first review, hope it's a good one. I been to a couple Echo dealers around here and they was sold out or dont carry it. Where I took my old 550xp to get checked out they had one but wouldn't give me a nickel for my old 550, that upset me so they lost the sale of a used 550 and a sale of a new Echo and they wanted $10.00 more then Frawleys saw shop half way across the country, ordered Sat, here Wednesday, that aint bad.
