Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!

Today's low was 9ºF just after midnight. Presently it is 17ºF with the expected high ~20ºF. 5" of snow fell with yesterday's storm. I might see some snow squall accumulation later today (~2") as the cold front moves in. Tonight's/Tomorrow's low, daytime high and chill temperatures will be subzero with -9ºF ambient the expected low; windchills in the -20ºF to -30ºF. Time to fire up the under utilized wood stove. Friday I see the orthopedist and PT people. It looks like I will be testing my new crutch ice creepers. The PV temperatures do not bother me; it's the ~40ºF weekend high temperatures and resulting thaw and refreeze that leads to icing that gives me cause for concern.

An arborist from the Tree Service will be coming here in 2 weeks to get an idea of "The Project" and hopefully get a $ guesstimate.

I was dangerous on a 21 speed bike and "smartly" (for once) decided that ownership of a motorized 2 wheeler was not a great idea

Garden Guardian..... Garden Godfather....... Weed Whisperer This could get problematic:rolleyes: Don- I really like the design and construction of those raised garden beds.

It amazes and saddens me how drivers forget safe driving practices in unsafe driving conditions.

I hope that everyone has a decent day today and those impacted by the PV stay safe on the roads and warm, those mending keep on mending, and the walking wounded keep upright and mobile.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

-5°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 8° today. Wind chill is around -26°F. The very definition of short-lived, it will be 60° here by Sunday.

When I was growing up, my best friend's older brother had a Bultaco that he kept at their farm. I remember it most for having the shifter on the wrong side. I once rode a wheelie on it straight into a bush. Alcohol was involved, of course.

I was thinking Horticultural Engineering Contractor, Don, but I think RNG's "Plant Wrangler" may be the one.

Good morning to all! Low of 24F, going up to maybe 48, sunny skies. Only a couple of small areas of piled snow left, mainly on the north sided shadowed areas. No precip until a slight chance on Saturday night.

Hope all dealing with the PV can make it through with minimal trouble.

Don't know what will be on the agenda for today, really don't care. It won't be much, knee was really bothering me today. Started after PT yesterday.

Started riding my first bike, a Honda mini-trail 50, at 8 y/o. Had 3 speeds and an automatic clutch. Traded it in on a Suzuki RM75. Had a real clutch and a 4 speed. A couple years later, traded that for a RM125 dirt bike. When I could legally drive, bought a Suzuki TS250 enduro. I think within a year, I bought my first real "street bike", a Kawasaki 400. That was the start of owning numerous bikes over the years. Finally ending up with my "dream machine"... An '83 1100GL Goldwing. Or so I thought. Sold the 83 and had to get the '95 1500GL Goldwing. That was my last bike, had it up to 4 years ago. Got way too dangerous on the roads, plus changed 'priorities' in life. Still miss riding for sure!

Everyone have a great day, stay warm and safe! Prayers sent.

RonJH- Good luck with the PT and increasing ROM. At this point I am looking forward to Mud Season.

Ted- I am sorry to read about the knee. Your rehab and PT is frustratingly slow just to read about; far worse to experience I am sure. Hang in there.

I am the first on with this idea and there were plenty of lookers when I was installing the PVC. I think they thought I was a plumber.
The blocks did not move when I put the front of the wheelbarrow on them to dump the mushroom compost.

I think I am going to have some serious competition with the garden bed to the East. I haven't seen them yet but every evening I improve my bed they improve there's the next day. Game on.:cool2:

OH, I'm a garden baby sitter. One of my neighbors who has a garden on the same row gave us some greens and broccoli and asked if we would maintain their garden while they were on vacation. What is a good name to use instead of a "garden baby sitter"? something a little more . . masculine since this morning talk is of Harley motorcycles, a garden babysitter seems kind of wimpy.

Kind of thought it was your idea.

Why not use capital letters. Garden Babysitter does not look so wimpy. 🤠

Plant Wrangler for sure, hey it's Texas!...

cold and sunny out, ran my errands, trying to get motivated to go out and cut up that downed tree but neighbor said he would do it tomorrow.
I think I'll be patient...

truly aggravated at SnowJoe electric snowblower. First I get a box with the two foot long chute crank missing.
Then when I get the crank rod it doesn't fit, since come to find out some genius on the assembly line riveted the plastic holder for
the chute rod in upside down. The rod won't connect since it is heading off at the wrong angle, so the plastic piece has to be fixed.
That means drilling out four rivets and putting in bolts. Went back and forth with customer service,
they, like the airlines...offered a 50 dollar credit if I would have it fixed locally.

Hmmm, drill out four rivets, turn the plastic around, put in four bolts and locking nuts, don't forget the washers.
I took the deal.

Great manufacturing QC SnowJoe...

-24F in the Windy City tonight, yikes, wind chills must be amazing

I enjoy watching the Youtube videos of the Great Lakes ore boats crashing through the ice to get into port.
I bet they are all in port going nowhere right now.

well stuffed full of amoxicillin this time, I think the first antibiotic just didn't work on me. The few times I need it, the penicillin
variety always seems to work well, need to remember that next time. I have a big red grapefruit downstairs I want for dessert but now I"m wondering sometimes grapefruit, perhaps too acidic, is not recommended to mix with things.
Armchair doctors? those of you with E&O? :D

temps are dropping fast, going to be a cold night here too, relatively. Windy too.
