37 going up to a warm 59 today with showers around dinner time.
Headed out shortly to finish shoveling dirt. Do the hardest jobs first...
Then might work in the garden a little, but if fields are not too wet, I might go out and rototill a little with the tractor.
The size of my new tractor is going to dictate me clearing a new access way through the ten foot wide wood line between my lawn area and the gardens/fields. Current path is through a small part of lawn, and with fel on front and tiller (or worse, mower) on back, I can't make the current turn in one try, have to k turn plus I'm digging up the grass that never seems to grow there anyway due to abuse of things constantly driven over it. So I'm going to eyeball the trees today down in the corner of the property and see which junk trees I can take down and leave an oak for example.
I fixed my chainsaw with a new rubber o-ring. I read the label carefully and they were hydraulic rated nitrile buna 70 something, don't understand ratings. Fit perfectly and stopped the drips for 75 cents.
Have a great deal of wood to cut up already due to downed trees from ditch. Which is right next to where I want to punch a hole through the property line so might as well make a bigger mess there while I'm at it. Which reminds me I need to burn my burn pile this morning, overflowing and always like to burn before rain predicted.
My helper was impressed using my Homelite battery powered saw. No lighter than regular saw, in fact maybe heavier. But sure is convenient, and with a pull of the lever, sparks fly out and a few seconds later the chain is sharp as can be. Whoever invented that was pretty smart.
Chain sharpness doesn't last as long, chain itself doesn't last as long, but boy does it work. Lots of you have electric saws, but being able to pull a lever and get a brand new sharp chain any time you want is very nice. Great when you've stuck the end in the dirt and mucked up the bar...
But today it will be Echo 450 hard at work. Nice mid size saw with one overriding quality. It starts....
Be safe in the cold and snow guys.
