Drinking first cup of coffee. 12° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to -9° with scattered snow showers. We have seen the high for today. Got the forecasted 6" of snow yesterday. Neighbor borrowed tractor and plowed mine also. Never thought I would be happy with someone else getting seat time on my tractor. :D No plans for the day. Except stay warm.

I remember the Mogen David bottle. s-l225.jpg
Large cap. I never drank it during my younger years. After all it was for medicinal care. I did try some of the other wines mentioned. With similar results. Hard stuff never worked for me. Beer was and still is OK. Mostly Bud and other name brand names. I made my own wine for many years. Still have about 30 bottles. Made to my liking. All white wine. Red wines make me sick.

Had to check my CCW permit. Good for another 2 years. My guns have not been out of the safe for over a year. Need to spend some time at the range.

Trying to remember everyones condition and action seems to be getting harder everyday. So if I miss you. It's because I forgot by the time I finished my post. I do read all the post.

Don, what would you have done with the valued paper. Do they have a group for lost and found?

Stay safe and warm for those within the Polar Votex.

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning All.

I was a pretty heavy drinker when younger (especially during my Navy days)...also, had some problems due to my drinking.
Nowadays, normally a beer or two after work and some whiskey (rarely) or wine (occasionally) on the weekends. As far as wine...mostly reds and I like Merlot mostly

That is my problem, too. I can't even remember the small group of us that do MM.

I do remember how many bottles (8oz) of Benylin with codeine it took me to get stoned. 1 would get me there, IF I could keep my eyes open.
In my 20's I would drink anything that had alcohol in it. Now I hardly drink at all. I have two cans of hard cider in the fridge that have been in there since before Christmas.

37 going up to a warm 59 today with showers around dinner time.

Headed out shortly to finish shoveling dirt. Do the hardest jobs first...
Then might work in the garden a little, but if fields are not too wet, I might go out and rototill a little with the tractor.

The size of my new tractor is going to dictate me clearing a new access way through the ten foot wide wood line between my lawn area and the gardens/fields. Current path is through a small part of lawn, and with fel on front and tiller (or worse, mower) on back, I can't make the current turn in one try, have to k turn plus I'm digging up the grass that never seems to grow there anyway due to abuse of things constantly driven over it. So I'm going to eyeball the trees today down in the corner of the property and see which junk trees I can take down and leave an oak for example.

I fixed my chainsaw with a new rubber o-ring. I read the label carefully and they were hydraulic rated nitrile buna 70 something, don't understand ratings. Fit perfectly and stopped the drips for 75 cents.
Have a great deal of wood to cut up already due to downed trees from ditch. Which is right next to where I want to punch a hole through the property line so might as well make a bigger mess there while I'm at it. Which reminds me I need to burn my burn pile this morning, overflowing and always like to burn before rain predicted.

My helper was impressed using my Homelite battery powered saw. No lighter than regular saw, in fact maybe heavier. But sure is convenient, and with a pull of the lever, sparks fly out and a few seconds later the chain is sharp as can be. Whoever invented that was pretty smart.
Chain sharpness doesn't last as long, chain itself doesn't last as long, but boy does it work. Lots of you have electric saws, but being able to pull a lever and get a brand new sharp chain any time you want is very nice. Great when you've stuck the end in the dirt and mucked up the bar...

But today it will be Echo 450 hard at work. Nice mid size saw with one overriding quality. It starts....

Be safe in the cold and snow guys.

As long as I refrain from profanity or mentioning competing products by name, Amazon has been pretty good about accepting reviews I've submitted. Real experiences from real users is the life blood of those reviews, and Amazon knows it. And it knows the bad reviews are often more telling than the good ones. So more power to you, Jay, and hope you're out of that mummy suit soon!
I got banned from giving amazon reviews and dont know why. Never used any bad language. Actually gave few reviews.

Reconstructing the scene, there is a high probability that the person who lost the money was probably at the scene and had just make a left hand turn and it flew off her roof were she left it accidentally while getting her keys out of her purse when she was leaving the golf pro shop, where she worked, on the way to the bank to make a deposit. There were plenty of volunteers to chase the money in the wind. This is a neighborhood of helpful volunteers.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!

Today’s low 2ºF, presently 11ºF with an expected high ~28ºF. Cloudy conditions; looks and smells like snow is on the way. The NWS raised our Winter Weather Watch to a Winter Storm Warning.. The NWS is predicting ~8”; some of the local TV ProMets are predicting up to 12” for the western MA hilltowns.

Phil- No earthquake felt here. I live on top of the “Goshen Dome” geological formation here in western MA.. I believe this formation is pretty stable.

I only wish I had the money now that I spent on booze and recreational chemicals including OTC products during my formative years:).

RNG- My Amazon review and picture of the missing crosspiece of the defective crampon was posted. I have reviewed a couple of Amazon purchases in the past; most were +, and all were posted. I agree about being non profane. Did you briefly change your avatar?

It’s really challenging trying to keep everyone’s health status and activity levels straight. A spreadsheet would be helpful. I am not “there” yet.

My + thoughts, prayers, and wishes.

Spent 4 hours walking the swap meet Sunday and bought exactly 1 thing. A 40mm Amal MkII carb for a Bultaco. $40 made me happy. Not easy to find. Impossible to find at that price. I did meet the Ikon shock distributor and drooled over the new lines of shocks set up specifically for flat track. I am thinking the Bultaco is gonna wear a good set of shocks this summer. But then the guy I am working with deserves good equipment.

Enough of boring everyone with that drivel....

Not drivel at all, Rich, at least not to me. Usta have a hopped up 850 Norton Commando with Amal MkIIs on it. They leaked slightly less than the Contrics they replaced and cost considerably more than forty dollars, but that was brand new back in the '80s. I'm surprised you'd follow your own drummer with the Amal, and not the herd of folks using Mikunis or Keihns. Are replacement parts still available?
