I've always thought that Justin Wilson, The Cajun, had the best idea. He said the right wine is the one you like. I not only agree, but contrary to what they tell me about most men not caring for sweet wines, I do. I don't drink much wine, but I do keep a jug of Carlo Rossi Sangria or a box of Franzia Sangria on hand.

Exactly, Bird. Drink what tastes best to YOU! All of our body chemistries are different, so we perceive taste differently, too. Mom's boyfriend was partial to Carlo Rossi's offerings, and I enjoyed them as well. I've had some truly awful bottles of fifty dollar wine, and more than a few delightful ones in the four to six dollar range. My favorites taste like strawberry jam, and I don't give a tinker's dam what anyone else thinks about that.:laughing:

27 heading to 42 today. Balmy compared to those up north. Tomorrow supposed to be colder. Right on the edge of a nice cold front. Will make sure all is plugged in for the next few days with the animals.

Put wife and I in the if it tastes good, we like it club.

I’ve pretty much always preferred beer, but in last thirty years probably haven’t bought a case’s worth of the stuff advertised on TV. Might say that living in Germany 6 years tweeked my liking of both beer and wine.
If you come to my house an offered beer will likely be a draught from local brewery and wine a choice of something sweetish out of a box, be it red, white, or in between. I’ll sip a dry more to be polite than to enjoy, wife will usually simply decline.
In school before my deployment to Germany I befriended a NATO officer who just happened to live where I was headed and he just assumed the role of wine mentor. I used to joke to local friends here when they would show up with a specifically chosen vintage to counter our box offering that more than likely they couldn’t afford to buy on purpose the quality we drank casually. Easy for me to go into a local German market and pickup a Gold Medallion with Pradikat for just a few dollars in those days. Drew’s comments made me smile as I remember the days you could line up a selection and without much effort I could identify and put in order. Visited lots of wineries, wine tastings - all behind me now LOL
Pretty much have forgotten how to read the labels and just have a glass that tastes good regardless how cheap or not.

13 going to 29. 3 to 6 inches of snow tonight. It appears we had another earthquake last night. That makes three in the last couple of months. Epicenter is only a few miles from me. All we get is a big snap noise and the house shakes. Sounds and feels like a tree falling on the roof.

0 and going to a high of 18°F. Wind E 29 gusting to 38 mph. Snow.
Snowing now and has been since yesterday evening. It is supposed to stop snowing by tomorrow afternoon.
I will be plowing at first light.

Need to take the DIL to the vampire this morning at 11 A.M for blood work. That is why I am plowing early.

That is all I will be up to today.

RNG, congrats on your CCW test...in Virginia, there is no range qualifying required for a permit, and I agree, there are very few no carry signs posted.

PJ, I have some Carhartt insulated work gloves my son gave me and they are great.

Don, sounds like your neighborhood has good litter...another good reason to move there.

Good morning, first cup of coffee is gone, time for another.

Felt good yesterday with the temp of about 45. It is 15 now and not really supposed to change much until the bottom falls out tonight. The Cleveland weather is on now, the map was just up of all of the wind chill warnings stretching from the Dakotas to New England. Time to bundle up and toss another log on the fire.

Spent 4 hours walking the swap meet Sunday and bought exactly 1 thing. A 40mm Amal MkII carb for a Bultaco. $40 made me happy. Not easy to find. Impossible to find at that price. I did meet the Ikon shock distributor and drooled over the new lines of shocks set up specifically for flat track. I am thinking the Bultaco is gonna wear a good set of shocks this summer. But then the guy I am working with deserves good equipment.

Enough of boring everyone with that drivel....

But I did get to meet up with some friends I see too infrequently and met some other people. Good weekend.

Time to get my mind into the day ahead....
