45° and light rain this morning, with temps dropping through the day into the 20s tonight. Looking at below zero tomorrow night and a high of 8° for Wednesday. I hear we're only getting a brush with this system. I'm sure it will be quite nasty up north.

Happy Birthday, Bird.

Not sure what leverage that post would have, Rick, but then I've never been in FP. Sorry that your attempt to help a neighbor keeps biting you.

Wife spent most of the weekend in her sewing room upstairs, and I spent most of it in my studio downstairs. We met up for meals. We were hearing coyotes howling as we were eating dinner Saturday evening. To hear them inside with doors and windows closed tells me they were closer than normal. Something has been digging near the chicken coop, but the size of the hole suggests it's our skunk friend, who has been stinking up the barn again.

Ventured out to Tractor Supply Saturday morning to get more feed for the chickens and ducks. Found a nice pair of insulated Carhartt gloves on clearance. Much warmer than my regular work gloves.

Stay warm, fellas.

Unfortunately ...... we all need to be careful what we post here now. Another member, who posts on GM, felt a need to post the above over on "Friendly Politics" as a personal insult. I'm guessing, it was to gain the favor of some of the loons that inhabit FP ..... 24/7.

Well since you are bringing it OUT of FP -
We all need to be careful of what we post. I didn't think the GM thread was a closed group. FP IS.

... I could hit pretty good at 25 yards with the snubbie.

Nice to know I'm not the only person on the planet who carries a snubbie. My original CCW instructor threw me a jaundiced glance when I told him I was a revolver guy, but said no more after I only pulled one out of the 10 ring.

There have been quite a few bleed-overs from stuff in FP ending up here. Seems like people cannot figure out that dividing forum decor.

Notice I said, FP to GM.

Suns up and I am looking at reclaimed 15+ year old pressure treated wood that may just do for my run-in floor. Should be a fun time with the saws today.

Too muddy with frozen ground to do much else.

Not sure about other states but, in Texas, if you qualify with a revolver, that's all you're licensed for. Qualify with a semi-auto and you're good to go, for both.

There's a big difference in taking innocent GM posts / pictures over to FP to use to insult another member.

And that's all I'll say on the matter.

Spent yesterday in a renewal class for the CCW and learned a few things, mostly about what the law says vs. what actually happens at the scene and in court later. Ex-cops make very good teachers. Before we adjourned to the range to qualify, he encouraged us to keep our skills sharp by practicing at least twice a month, but assured us that even if we hadn't shot since we last qualified two years ago, he'd coach us through so we passed. I confessed to him that I was one of those who lacked practice, but fortunately the rust wore off pretty quickly and I did OK. Even surprised myself that the bum eye didn't get in the way too much, and (not to brag) that I could hit pretty good at 25 yards with the snubbie. I think the instructor was surprised, too, and he started to complain that it was hard to mark the target when a lot of the holes overlapped.

Your first sentence is the important one. I renewed my CHL last year, but for the renewal, wasn't required to attend a class or anything else; just apply and pay.
