Up and about in beautiful downtown Hartford CT...

19 here..high today in the mid-30's...a far cry from Bethel where it's 3 degrees with a high of about 20 today.

The training is pretty boring...3 more days...

If the forecast holds true, we have a pretty significant snow event coming in on the weekend

Here it is, can you figure out what it is? I can't. Those paddles should be a clue.

Mind blowing that, so many years ago, a forward thinking young man went to his agricultural dealer for some advice and said "I'd like to but a great Avatar for my future grandson - what do you suggest ?"

:)

Good morning. 20F here now and headed to 37 with some sun today.

Roy- I remember those out of town trips for “required” training. I could not get home quick enough.

Everyone be safe.

I remember those trips out of town. I was the instructor. Hope I was not boring. Video's were the most boring. Best classes were hands on. Most boring part of my job was making class outlines.

Up and about in beautiful downtown Hartford CT...

speaking of instructing, spent a year there teaching insurance to trainees in Traveler' Education Center in Hartford.
First time I saw what happened being in a city at end of work day. Travelers, Aetna, several other insurance companies all got out at the same time.
The sidewalks were simply packed liked cattle as folks tried to get to their parking garages. I learned early to just let them all go and leave fifteen minutes later. I remember a lot of snow there too, bought my first fwd car, a Renault R5. Fun to drive but a terrible car overall, slab sided and super lightweight, blown all over rt 91 by trucks. Next car was a relatively tank like Chevy Nova, late 70's. four door, dark blue, rally wheels, 305 and automatic. I had at least three guys who wanted that car when I was done. Sure would be worth way more than I paid for it now.

colder 26 out now, only 45 in garden shed, need to go turn the heat up in there. Can't wait for bigger heater coming in tomorrow.
As the propane company delivered another load yesterday to keep my tank topped off.

hope you all have a nice day. Stay vertical on that snow.

Ron, thanks for naming the avatar. I'll ask my mom if she remembers it being used.
Drew I'm sure that's just what grandpa asked for. Too bad he did not know about a plant based diet and heart disease - he died at 67 from heart disease when I was a young teen. He had a JD but he still had his big black horse also that he used like we use a golf cart.
Eric, the contrail looks like it is matching the shape of the hay bales.
Buppies thanks for the heads up.

Good morning! 44˚, heading to the "Barn" this morning to put in the time maintaining the clubs power equipment (riding mowers, the gator and tillers) Our SIG leader said he would have oil and filters for most everything except the tractor. The tractor just had it's 400 hour service about 30 hours ago.

I'll try to get a pic of the sticking sliding door and see if there are any recommendations on how to repair it.

of all the cars you've owned, which one would you like back in your "spare" garage right now?
Not for money or profit, but just the one that made you feel the best and was the most fun to drive.

A runner up for me was a Peugeot 403 sedan, cream colored, four speed on column (how cool was that?), sunroof, long before the American cars,
and the piece de resistance, a fully reclinable front seat arrangement where both seats made a bed.
Now that was discovered one night in high school to my utter delight.
Alas, the girl was wild but I was not...smart enough to know without "protection" this was super dangerous.
Sure fogged up the windows though. :D
ah the memories we made when we were young in cars.

For a pretty long time I owned a Lesabre Limited, being in insurance I was a Buick guy, very stereotyped..., which was medium dark metallic green, with a green velour interior that was not horrible or tacky, but really nice and low key, soft to sit in, just a big living room couch.
Of course one drove sedately on a couch, but that was the whole idea. 4 guys were on a list for that one (small town, not many car dealerships nearby), traded it in on, and almost hard to admit this now, but hey, we were all young...a Grand Prix with a huge nose, a hood ten feet long, scarlet glittery red with eye opening velour bucket seat interior. Now that would make me cringe today...
But I sure would like to take Toppop for a ride in it, we'd have a good laugh.

Pressing those big chrome metal buttons on the radio.
I think the Buick was the first year they put a digital speedometer in the center of the dash.
I bet those digital speedometers have saved a lot of speeding tickets since.
You look at those old speedometers and it takes a full second or two to focus on "where is it?" meanwhile you aren't watching the road which
clearly is more important.

Our cars really are safer now.
Just wish you could get a cloth interior in the nicer models.
but maybe not velours...
Toyota's most expensive car, which we can't get here in the US, has wool cloth seats. Now we're talking...
Not very kid or dog proof I bet.

2by2 yamaha utility cart with trailer but with new lithium battery pack and AWD.

Drew that reminds me of the tragedy that happened yesterday morning.
While my wife was sitting on the new couch with her cat (gray2) and a cup of coffee, gray two had an unexpected barfing episode and my wife spilled her coffee on the couch. everything cleaned up perfectly because the couch is made of olefin fiber.

Problaby not the best Vette built. My 68 convertible/hardtop. It was my commuter car for work.
