I've been using the Maxxima floods, as well as a few others, for the last 6 or so years. Link is below for my local store. I like these rather than a bar because they can be aimed individually. With the wide pattern they can be aimed a bit outward for a really wide lit area. Bought 4 last week for the
L4240 and haven't installed them yet. Some people are probably drawn to light bars because they look neat and they enjoy saying "light bar" rather than "light". Sort of like the "point" in "price point".
As I mentioned in another thread, LED's have a couple undesirable properties for me. The biggest is when I'm finish mowing at night. Regular old halogen lighting seemed to provide a better definition between the cut and uncut grass. I may only use 2 LEDs on the rear of the
L4240 and leave the factory front lights on because of this. Need to do some experimenting.
The second is the bright spillage of light. This isn't a problem when you're in the tractor seat, but when I'm working near a road I'm sure it annoys passing motorists. If I see a car coming I turn the LEDs off for a few seconds till it passes. When I'm in the truck on the road it irks me when some oncoming poser/mall crawler with a bunch of aftermarket LEDs blinds me. It should be an acceptable practice to follow them home and spray paint their lights
