John Deere 4410, John Deere 4120, Kubota LX3310 cab, John Deere F725 Front Mount Mower, Swisher 60" pull behind mower. John Deere 4310 CUT (sold), Ford New Holland 575E Cab Backhoe (sold).
Picked up a 4310 at auction yesterday. Got it home today and looks like everything works and no leaks. Looking for a 430 loader and mounts if anybody knows of one. Tractor has the control and connections but loader is gone if it had one.

Spent some time with the new to me 4310 yesterday. All of the main functions seem to work okay. I will have to adjust to the different feel of rheostat inputs vs mechanical linkage on the hydrostat. I did read there is a switch that makes the movement more direct so I need to try that in a different position.

Tried parking it under my shed and it fits but barely. I went ahead and lowered the canopy position some after this photo was taken.

Next I put the quick hitch on and hooked up my finish mower to make sure the PTO would operate under a load. No problems there.

The cowl is broken as is the fuel door hinge area of the hood. Fuel door is missing. I went ahead and ordered a new hood and cowl set for it.

When I set the tire pressures it didn't seem to have loaded tires and the right rear has cracks all around on the sidewall. I knew the fronts were worn but I thought I had good rears. They may run a while like they are but I see new tires in my future. I may look around for a good set of take off mounted R4s.

The instrument glass is foggy or faded. Research indicates that was a common problem and the glass is a separate part so I will try to remove, clean, and coat that when I install the new body parts.

Interesting info on my search for a loader. The salvage company I called said they were pretty sure they had one on a 4300 but never called me back to confirm. I guess the sale of a loader is small potatoes. I called them a few hours after the first call and was told they were trying to catch up and get time to go verify they had what I wanted.

The John Deere dealer quoted $5900 for a compatible loader installed. They didn't seem interested in giving me a quote for just the components.
Westendorf quoted $6,419.49, not including freight for their TA-111 model.
If I can't find a used one I may go back to the dealer for more detail. I didn't ask for specs or whether or not the dealer unit included a QA system.

Last winter I was quoted $4k for an H165 loader, cash and carry. I can't really see any good reason why the H165 wouldn't go on your 4310. The framework is just about identical to the 3046R, but I didn't have them in the same place at the same time to be sure.

Walked into the local dealer today and explained I didn't need them to install. They said the current loader to fit my tractor is a 320R. Quoted $4900 + tax uninstalled. Haven't been able to find much in the way of specifications on it other than total lift. It doesn't even say if it's at the pin or forward of the pin.

Still waiting for the call back from the salvage yard.

I went from an 855 to a 4400 in 2001. Best move I've made. Now would like to move up to a 4066 or 4052...….. Seem to always want a bigger machine. Enjoy your new toy.

Be glad if it didn't have a loader. Just like I would never buy a truck that had a plow! It looks alot like a 770/790. Nice big wheels. It probably came with the hydraulic controls as standard, as with the 770.

My 770 tires seemed to develope cracks very soon, despite low hours and being kept inside. BUT, my neighbor has the tractor and it still has the cracked tires on it. That's almost twenty years!

I picked up a 420 loader and all the brackets for it for $1200. The loader was missing the bucket cylinders. I am going to try and retrofit some 2" cylinders on the lift and bucket to increase the strength and height. Planning to do another thread on that.

This tractor has worn out front tires and the RR is cracked in the outer sidewall and between the treads. Cracks on the sidewall are symmetrical and go from the rim towards the tread all the way around about every 8 to 10 inches.

Installed the new hood and cowl. Cleaned out the inside of the dash panel glass so I can see through that now. Still cleaning stuff up and got side tracked with having to rebuild my landscape rake. Had to pull the canopy off and fold down the ROP to get it in the garage. Canopy has some cracks anyways so that is another project for another day

Looking better by the day. Did you buy the aftermarket hood? Or the high dollar stock hood?

If you bought aftermarket, how well did it fit?

I saw these guys when I was comparing rebuild/buy new cylinders. I rebuilt. So I can't vouch for these guys.

I bought the generic hood/cowl set from FLIP. It fits okay. The cowl lines up perfect with the side panels but the hood is about a 1/4" mismatch all the way around. (EDIT: Looking at earlier pics the new hood fits just like the old but I don't know if it had an OEM hood on it to begin with?) It's not something that bothers me and may well be the way the factory hood would fit. The fuel door doesn't snap in very positive and was bouncing up and down. I stuck some small pieces of velcro on the rest pads to keep it down. The set was $358 shipped.

It didn't come with the foam pieces that stick under the hood on top of the fuel tank. I was able to reuse the one that was on my old one but I may order a new set from JD.

I saw them too but didn't realize they were in USA with USA stock. I just ordered a cylinder form them to check fitment. Prices are similar to Surplus Center but free shipping will save money.

I was thinking they were made in Ukraine? They are on sale I saw yesterday! Hope you can get one that fits. I have a 430 FEL and I just rebuilt the bucket curl cylinder. It has a 2" (50mm) bore.

I've already fiberglassed underneath the cowling that goes around the instrument panel. I need to do the hood the same. I've lost my fuel door lid some time ago too. I want to say I priced it from Deere at around $1000 for the plastic. Considering it has spent 95% of it's whole life outdoors, and it's 16 years old, I guess that's not too bad. It has survived many strikes from branches falling off the FEL....

That through me off too but when I clicked on your link it popped up the sale on "in stock" cylinders and I saw they had a Newark NJ address. I hope I'm not waiting for the cylinder I ordered to come from the Ukraine.

I'm thinking the only difference between the 420 and 430 loaders is the cylinder bore. I read another thread and watched the OPs videos on how he upgraded a 420 loader to 2" bore cylinders. He bought some odd cylinders from Surplus Center and did some fairly intense modifications to make them work. I'm hoping to just trim the cross tube on one end and adapt the hoses or make new hoses.

I received the cylinder from Magistar today and it looks like it will work okay. When I went back to order 3 more they had gone up so I called to see if they would match last weeks price and they did. Hope these Ukraine cylinders don't bite me in the ***. I will have $416 in four new cylinders. Will have to adapt or make new hoses but that was going to happen any way I went.

Keep us posted. Let us know if the cylinders work.
If your hoses are 15 years old, you are not wasting money replacing them.

15 yr old hoses?? Hmmm? Mine are 20 yrs old, and have no reason I see to replace them...
