Forgot to add this to my post this morning...
We got about an inch of powdery snow on Friday, so I tried the EGO snow blower yesterday and it did great. This little snow blower is strictly for areas I can't get with the tractor and is something my stepdaughter could handle easily. For that purpose, it succeeded admirably. I expect it'll handle accumulations up to 8 or 9 inches...but would work best if we hit the walks at 5" or so.
Since they were on sale, I picked up a couple EGO inverters:
Portable Power Inverter - Nexus Escape by EGO POWER+
Tried both out yesterday...one charging a cell while powering a lamp, the other powering a laptop. Both worked well and will be a nice power source for some applications. I have 4 EGO batteries of various amperages (2.5, 5.0 and two 7.5). We had a power outage od about 20 hours a week back. My wife was going nuts without her cell phone...the 2.5 Amp battery will keep her phone going (as well as a lamp) for several hours. My stepdaughter needed her laptop powered up to do homework, so the 5.0 amp/hour battery should keep her happy.
I'm sure I'll find other uses for the batteries which set idle during the winter months (the 2.5 and 5.0 batteries are used for a string trimmer, chainsaw and leaf blower during the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons).
