Since you paid for 5 pairs up front you better go trade those cutters a few more times.

At work, I use Snap On. At home I use Snap On, Craftsman and whatever brand I need to cut, grind, or bend. I bought Snap On Tin Snips back in 1979 and have had them replaced twice for free. Try that with any other brand.

Snap On truck accounts take weekly or monthly payments without interest. To me, it isn't the price, but the right tool at the right time. Snap On tool boxes are guaranteed for life also. After 29 years, Snap On replaced my roll cab's wheel assemblies for free. They are the heavy duty ones with build in brakes.

Flank drive is awesome. Have you ever seen the demonstration of a Snap On box end .vs a Craftsman box end? They put a nylon hex in both box ends and turn them. The Craftsman side rounds the corners first.

And it is awesome to have the Snap On truck show up at your work, where you can shop on the clock.

Same for me, Brandi. The only thing that bothers me is that if paying cash and NOT on account you have to “negotiate” a discount.

Back when I was a kid the Snap-on dealer that called on the farm covered the whole city. Now there’s at least three.

I’ve had four or five dealers since then. Some great, and others not so much. The first guy I remembered the best. He used to drop by regularly to visit even though my dad never purchased much. I probably got hooked when he gave me my first Snap-on “gift” (promo). A stamped rectangular metal ash tray that I still use for holding small parts today.

The other memorable one was in the mid 1980’s when Canada was converting to metric. The Government was offering a 50% rebate for tradespeople purchasing new metric tools (and additional storage) under a registered plan.

In addition to a new roll cab he helped me load up on tools including “metric” chisels, punches etc. It’s always good to develop a relationship with your vendor. Win/win always makes for a good day.

If you work on heavy equipment or large industrial machinery you better well have some high-end tools or you will be doing a lot of cussing.

Actually, Wiss snips were $3 then. Snap On were $8. But each time I got free replacements, the Wiss cost a lot more than $8. Can you buy a pair of left, right, or neutral Wiss snips now for $8?

No but the snap on snips are over $100 for a set now.

Uh...........Snap On gave us mechanics catalogs AND price lists. No negotiations. I did have one dealer that loved aviation so much, he would give us incentives to buy tools and share aviation mx stories. But he had been a dealer forever and all his truck and merchandise was his, not Snap On's.

Amen to that..........sometimes doctor's bills when you break a cheap tool. Or dentist bills.

Just another point to buy the best tool the first time. I did, and will forever get free replacements after paying 8 bucks in 1978. I'm sure, if I took my time, I could sell all my Snap On tools for more than I paid for them. For a professional mechanic, it's an investment.

Also here is a link to buy left AND right Snap On tin snips for $71. Shopping Cart

I don't have experience with Snap On... always too rich for me. Do you break or wear out Snap tools often?

I almost always do buy quality tools, but I can’t justify snap on over other more value priced brands. I’ve got Williams, SK, Proto, Klein, Knipex, Gearwrench, Craftsman ( which I don’t think are as good as their reputation) and it hurts a little bit to say it but I’ve even got some HF tools. I’ve yet to bust a single HF socket or ratchet.
