Is the Power I-mig 210 on sale?

Looking at the 255EXT, and perhaps a Plasma cutter, too. Since I want 60A plasma cutter, would the Powerpro 256D be a a better choice than the PowerTIG 255EXT and PowerPlasma 60S.

My welding will run the gamut from Farm repairs on steel equipment, to Aluminum and Stainless fabrication. The welding capabilities look to be about the same, with only benefit I see to going with the 60S is the ability to put it on a CNC table. (which may be in the works).

Decisions, decisions. How long do I have to make up my mind?

In my opinion it is primarily name, but that should not be discounted. If you run a pro welding shop, or you weld for a living, the name recognition will go far to add credibility to your business. I don't weld enough to warrant that sort of expense (I can have 2 machines from Everlast for the price of one Miller) but I do respect those that feel it matters. Parts sourcing and construciton will be argued over (China vs Merica) but the reality is that not much is USA made these days in the ways of electronics.

Snap on cost an absurd amount. I’ll never buy a new snap on piece. There’s a difference in better quality and just absurd pricing.

Marketing. And the distribution network. Snap-on comes to you. But not so big a difference now with e-commerce.

Plus Snap-on depends on consumer financing as part of their business model extending credit to mechanics and apprentices starting out.

At work, I use Snap On. At home I use Snap On, Craftsman and whatever brand I need to cut, grind, or bend. I bought Snap On Tin Snips back in 1979 and have had them replaced twice for free. Try that with any other brand.

Snap On truck accounts take weekly or monthly payments without interest. To me, it isn't the price, but the right tool at the right time. Snap On tool boxes are guaranteed for life also. After 29 years, Snap On replaced my roll cab's wheel assemblies for free. They are the heavy duty ones with build in brakes.

Flank drive is awesome. Have you ever seen the demonstration of a Snap On box end .vs a Craftsman box end? They put a nylon hex in both box ends and turn them. The Craftsman side rounds the corners first.

And it is awesome to have the Snap On truck show up at your work, where you can shop on the clock.
