I went to remove a rear wheel from my BX the other day and a wheel stud in my Bro-Tek wheel spacer snapped as soon as I applied pressure.

Anyone know:
  1. Can I simply press these from the front side?
  2. Where can I find a replacement?

It does look like a press fit. It should just press out. Did you try to get a replacement stud from Bro-Tek?

That looks like a grade 8 stud. How long was the pipe you had on the breaker bar?

I would suggest emailing Richard at Bro-Tek to see if you can get a new stud.

I've put them in vehicles before. You should be able to drive the old one out and I usually pull the new one in. I usually just use a nut and keep tightening it to pull it tight, sometimes you may have to put a space under it so the lug nut has something to pull against.

ha! i'm guessing a manufacturing defect in the stud. it snapped instantly when applying pressure with a standard 1/2" ratchet.

Try your local auto-parts store. Bring in the spacer and have them match up your stud.

Following along... See what Richard at Bro Tek says before you take other action. I have 2in spacers on the back and 1.25in on the front of my BX. Great products in my opinion.

I agree now that I think about it, drive the stud in. I've done it on vehicles where you can't drive it in or drive it in very well and that's when I pull it in.

It is better to use a press to reinstall it, then to beat it into submission with a hammer.

If you know how to use the hammer and support the hub properly, beating it into submission works very well.
Dusty, Rick! good to hear from you 'old timers'! I love hammers and presses but I still say call Richard and ask the manufacturer's opinion. Again, love my spacers!
