How Would You As A TBNer Cut A Metal Coffee Can?

/ How Would You As A TBNer Cut A Metal Coffee Can? #42
I've found that the best tool I have to cut any sort of metal is the 15 amp Skill saw with a metal blade. I usually just use cheap disintegrating blades, of course much fancier options are available.

1. Put can in vice length wise and cut one side of can
2. spin can 180 degrees and cut other side.

Takes a few seconds and most of that will be positioning the coffee can.

First, we have 50 posts about which way is best.
Then we have another 50 posts about which tool to buy

I assume he wanted to use both halves from the comments,

Now remember a can is sealed at both ends so how do you cut a filled can in half?
If you are cutting empty then there is only one usable 1/2 can as after all you had to use a can opener on one end.(LOL the top end I presume)

He wanted both halves with no ends in them.

You could remove one end, fill it with water, freeze it, cut it in half on a band saw, then cut the bottom out. You're left with the two rings he wanted.

I think. I can never be sure what I read.

Yup.

You could, but you'd have ground coffee everywhere, with lots of metal shavings all through it.

Pull foil seal from top, use can opener on the bottom, cut in middle. You have two rings which is what I needed.

Metal shavings remove with a magnet.
The way I cut that paper thin soda can was super easy and would work for the can.

I知 putting my money on yes. I致e seen plenty of pipe used as post that froze at the bottom.

People freeze their credit cards in the bottom of a coffee can that has the bands so that they have to wait for the ice to melt.

I’m not getting the point?
