Is there anyway to jump the key switch on my 2206 Kohler command 20, to see if this is why nothing happens when I try to start tractor, yes PTO off, Brake pressed, seat switch jumped. battery good, just looking for leads to try to turn over starter before having to take to repair shop, Tractor ran for an hour while cutting lawn, ran out of gas, wife refilled fuel, called me telling me tractor won't start, 3 hrs. later I came home and tried to start, and it started right up, ran about 1.5 minutes and died. Know does nothing not even click when key is turned, So is the switch bad? Haven't tried check solenoid yet, but will, just looking for help. Thanks

Have you looked at the fuses to make sure they haven't been blown. Then check for 12 volts at the small spade or post terminal on the starter solenoid with the key in the start position. If you have power there most likely either the brake switch, or pto switch. Seat switch not normally in the start circuit. the only one I have found to go through the seat switch is scag and some of the older murray riders, but they would still crank and not spark.

Found a wiring dia. on the web showing me power from battery to key switch then pto and brake, reverse switches then to starter sol. Found no power leaving the S blade of start switch, jumped the B and S contact points on the female connecter closing the brake switch and it started to turn over, so I replaced the starter key switch and it solved the problem. the tractor is running again. The problem is there is not to much info on web about Cub Credit model 2206, most of the 2000 series don't even show 2206 models.
Thanks for the help

Great, your are in business again. Thanks for letting us know what the fix was. Those switches take a lot of abuse, if you leave your machine out in the rain, it gets in there and corrodes the contacts.

I have a WSM for 2000 series tractors. It shows the complicated interlocking of all sorts of switches and relays.
The manual has excellent colored circuit diagrams. For starting, for PTO engagement etc.

Send me a pm with your email and I will send you a link to download my manual.
