A day of relative calm today before the wind starts up again tomorrow. Yesterday it hit Ireland first, killing two people there, with others seriously injured locally by falling trees. One of the people who died was a lady over on holiday from Switzerland, she was in her caravan when it was blown off a camp site, over a cliff onto the shore.

We were fortunate to get off lightly, only damage was to my neighbour's huge trampoline. As we finished lunch I saw it rolling around like a snared beast with only one rope left tethering it to the ground. I was expecting it to break free any minute and go crashing through the window. It was obviously wrecked beyond repair, so with their permission I slashed the taught fabric to let the wind through. Must admit I was more than a little wary get near it.

My Grandma always used to tell me not to be impatient as "The best things in life come to those that wait". Ain't that true RNG.

A question for all who have kids. Are your kids more, (or less) outgoing than yourselves? meaning able to start conversations with people (they don't really know) and enjoy it.....Not that I want her talking to total strangers, but like to people at church.

Both our kids are more outgoing than me. Fortunately they both ended up in jobs where they get paid for talking, whereas I'm an engineer so I get paid for thinking and then only if the thoughts work out ok.

Our son never did leave home, we had to move to another county to get a house to our ourselves. He bought the house he had grown up in off us at a very special discount.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 62° with rain this morning. Heading to 84° with some rain. Got lawn cut yesterday. Made a lift arm and hook for FEL. Use it to raise frame and net over garden pond. When rain stops I will do pond maintenance.

Kyle, the "Restore Auto-Saved Content" box is back in Chrome this morning. I shut computer down. Then restarted. :confused3:

LS, hope they figure out was is going on with your knee.

Thomas, Avon lady at 3am. Enough to ruin anyone's day.

Randy, nice Tbird.

Prayers for all those in need.

Good Morning All.

The T-Bird is a joint venture with a friend that owns a small chain of pharmacies locally. He found the car in Vermont where it never went outside in winter or rain. 61,000 miles.
I do flip a few old cars and when I can split the cost and profit it’s a lot more fun an relaxing.
No idea what shipping cost is, I deliver to Baltimore terminal and I’m done.

Well, excuuuuuse me, I was chatting in a JD area. About a 4066R. Hmmmm.
But yes, up at 5:30 instead of 3-4am. I had gained a few pounds back and some good exercise
is needed. I don't even remember getting up last night for the usual so probably means I was dehydrated.
Sweat through three shirts; that'll do it. But it's done. Sort of...

It's the driveway resealing that has me a bit depressed. No help. Offered the firemen 200 a day to help
and no interest. I have to repair the cracks again today but then I have two more days of sun, total change in weather, and Fall is coming.
It's a job that needs to get done now, not later. I'd work on it in parts but have too many UPS and mail trucks/cars coming in for that.
Thankfully small Amazon stuff gets jammed in my mailbox now, that's cut down on a lot.

Roy, get out those sweaters! There should be a nip in the air at nights.
And no snow until Dec 24.

Got my zero turn stuck twice
I can just see those mud slimed rear tires spinning away.
When I had a Ferris ZT years ago, I got it stuck all the time.
Wound up welding a tow loop on front...which I also did with my Gravely.
Those ditches just suck you in...you feel the slide start and you turn the wheel or move the sticks and you just keep sliding.
I always thought of those teacup rides at the amusement park.
If all you wound is your pride and your turf, fine. Just don't turn over.

Have a fine Thursday.

Our 2 sons are very outgoing. Like their parents. All our grandkids are also outgoing. Except the oldest one. Takes awhile for her to talk to other people. But does become more social after first contact. Oldest sons friend that visited us last weekend. Said that he can tell me and 2 son are related besides having similar facial features we all like to talk. To bad he never met my wife when she could talk.

Toppop, I always thought that TBird design was like an American Jaguar, one of the nicest classical designs
that will always look good. Another good one is an early Chrysler 300 with that space age electroluminescent dash.
Both big American iron with the biggest engines made.
But a hemi Sport Fury? My I bet someone wishes they still had that. Particularly if it was manual.
Oh the noise you could make playing that instrument.

Cars are becoming electric appliances, personal mobility vehicles.
But to bang second gear just right and get the front end to lift up, well....just aren't going to get
that in a Prius.

Deciphering code early in the morning is aways a challenge.

Let's see
1. The Avon lady from the Amish community came by window number 3 in the bedroom and the perfume she was wearing was enough to wake you up.
2. A female skunk came by the bedroom window at about 3A.M. and the smell woke you up.

Am I close on one of them at least?

Sure wish I had my 64 Sport Fury 4 spd. But it was a 426 wedge. I had access to lots of performance parts though my wifes cousin who worked at Chrysler tech center Detroit. Very fast. But could not seem to make it run as fast as the Chevy's in the same NHRA class.

If they would make a standard shift Prius you might. When you floor a Prius both the electric and the gas motor kick in and it has better acceleration than any car I have had. (My first car was a Pinto). I do remember as a kid one of the cool "older" guys in the neighborhood got a orange (or lime green, or yellow) Dodge Challenger and I went ridding in it. He was going to show us how it could peel rubber and I put my head against the seat so I would not get whiplashed.

   / Good morning!!!! #82,012
Nothing accelerates faster than electric Don, all the hyper cars, the exotics, are all using electric
for that instant shove of power.
But you are still driving a high powered golf cart, at least to me emotionally with many of today's plug ins.

I've kidded about this before. Put a stick shift on your electric car, talk about a flat torque curve...and have it dummy engines noises that
you can choose from a vast menu in your infotainment system. Every day drive a different engine.
If we have to go electric, let's at least make it interesting...

If and when I wind up in a wheelchair, I expect it to have the biggest electric motor on the block. :D
For sure an aero kit, rewound motors, Pirelli Scorpion tires, twin massagers, yeah baby

   / Good morning!!!! #82,013
Good morning! 74˚ heading to 90˚ some clouds 20% chance of rain. I need to paint/stain the 9 structure 6x6 Ls on the 3 peaks of the house.

Drew, don't forget the 12" slicks so you can love the smell of burning rubber in the mornings.

   / Good morning!!!! #82,014
Now just imagine Don coming down the golf cart pathway to the big parking lot, as his
jaguar svr engine noise crackles and pops on the slowdown, and to the amazement of his fellow golf carters,
he revs the exhaust a little before shutting it off.

Oh man I got to get one of those....

Oh what a manly man that is swoons the ladies...:D

   / Good morning!!!! #82,015
A couple of speakers in the battery area might just pull it off.

You sound like a great dad. Will her commute be really long everyday? Hope your mower is fixed. Mine needs some TLC after all, it is 13 years old.

I love my kids so much, that I told my oldest 13 year old (with a bit of ugly duckling self complex because of acne right now), that she could live at home as long as she wants to, as long as she contributes. (Now she'll probably move out when she's 18 and never come back....LOL.

A question for all who have kids. Are your kids more, (or less) outgoing than yourselves? meaning able to start conversations with people (they don't really know) and enjoy it.....Not that I want her talking to total strangers, but like to people at church.

I am a hard parent. I guess three daughters makes one that way. All three kids are social butterfly's. They get that GIFT from their Mom. Complete strangers will see them and unload their lives on them. It is quite a phenomenon that I tell them is a GIFT. It is amazing to watch in person when it happens. All three have different age groups that they excel in, socially. My eldest is the old soul. Older people, like me, LOL, find her and latch on. The middle one, her age group, and the youngest one, kids. Yeah, ODD how that worked out.

So far, bless them, they seem to be on the right track. They make differences, positive, in whatever they do. The volunteer work they have done in other countries and here at home, is amazing. Who leaves home now-a-days on a whim, and a little cash to go show up somewhere to just help and learn? Amazing. I know the travel bug came from me. LOL.

Anyway, around 66 outside this AM. Cleaning the pool. Been a rough year for that thing, drained it again. Weather will be nice today into the 80's. Need to pack up the tool bag and head out back.

LS, hope that knee gets better.

Amazing story on that Vanagon. The daily trial and tribulations are indeed a good story for the positive path forward. Never give up on the goal.

wngsprd, I got my ZTR stuck a while back. I went looking for the FEL control and realized ...wrong machine. LOL. Brain fried due to sun. Sorry next hay/grass machine will have a cab.

Hope all have a great start to the day, be safe.

Good Morning!!!! 71F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High near 90F. NNE winds shifting to W at 10 to 15 mph.

Just put a pair of horns off a locomotive on your golf cart, Don. You can get away with a tiny 12 volt compressor to run it, but you蛟、l need a BIG air tank! That is guaranteed to get EVERYONEs attention!

The Stan character on the old Miami Vice TV series drove a 61 T-bird convertible, T-Pop. Been lusting after one ever since. My Old Man was a Ford man, and had one of the ugly 62s. It had electric windows, and as a youngster when Mom stuck her head out the window to back out of the garage, it was too much temptation to resist pushing the button to lift her window...:ashamed::laughing:

No joy trying to revive the 17 MacBook Pro yesterday. The drive will boot the 15 version when attached to a USB interface, but not the 17. Tried resetting a few things, then at the end of the day, pulled off the back cover and disconnected the battery. This morning I will reconnect it and try one last time before taking it in for service.

Also worked out the details to re-wiring the new handlebar switch on the old motorcycle. It was a bit mind bending to figure out how each of the twelve wires were to be moved, and fun turning the little tool needed to get them out of their sockets. But an electrical gremlin has also invaded the DRO on the X axis of the lathe, and the thousandths digit jumps around too much to read now. I do not think it is a mechanical problem, more like electrical noise on that input, so I will be digging into that today as well. It is always sumthing , eh?:banghead:

I see many weeks ahead refinishing the camper interior and installing it into the van, folks, so a road trip is not happening anytime soon. As it sits, the only thing inside that van is the drivers seat, and it badly needs recovering, along with the passenger side seat as well. I will probably snag some cheap-o covers off the net for now, and when I do get to take that road trip, swing through New Mexico and Texas looking for just the right Southwestern themed cloth. And by then maybe a nice set of adjustable Ricaros will turn up...

Is it Friday yet?:confused2:
