LEDs are probably fine in a motorcycle headlight, but I'm not sure I'd want them on a car or truck. Not enough heat to keep them from freezing over in the winter. I know some municipalities had that issue with traffic lights around here when they first switched to LEDs.

That's a legitimate concern, one I addressed a long, long time ago by moving to somewhere it doesn't snow much, if at all.

I wonder, do cars that come from the factory with LED headlights also have heater grids to keep them ice free? Or do the really bright modern LEDs generate enough heat to eliminate the problem? The bulb I got has a rooster tail of six inch-wide wire braids about six inches long to get rid of the extra heat.

did a full service except for oil change on my CC XT2 lawn mower, the one I loan to a friend.
Mower deck wheels have a zerk fitting, she neither knows what a grease gun is nor could use one, nor be trusted
with one...so about 20 hours of sandy use and the mower deck wheels were going grindey, grindey, grindey when I turned them.
full of sand...marvelous lubricating properties as we all know. Pumped lots of grease through the bearings, all I could do.
Put on new air filter, this one lasted almost two years. Mower now has a whopping 35 hours on it.

Now here's a case where having sealed mower deck bearings is a genuine blessing. Dealership said the less expensive CC equipment like mine is a real headache. Folks think they will last as long as Kubota also sold there. Get serious, lucky to last through warranty. It's MTD's premium brand and at least on my unit there are some quality parts, which was the last of its kind with a Kawasaki twin and a fabricated deck. Too expensive to make any more for the two grand marketplace. I have to temper my dislike of driving it based on driving the JD X750, which cost six times more. Which after picking up a pile of sticks I might go run this afternoon, having hooked up the lawn vac to it. Which also required changing the oil in the lawn vac. Chonda engine, 315cc, odd number, not a 305 made by some unknown company with a nice thick DR paint job on it. Nice engine, not enough muffler, thing sets up a racket and howl that I bet make the neighborhood coon dogs howl in protest. Or perhaps just having a friendly conversation with it.

One last foray out. Incremental progress. I finished hand raking the entire driveway today, that was shirt number one. I just took off shirt number two. Now I'm working on the front lawn. Tide is cheering me on...

73 degrees early this morning, going for a high of 92 with a 20% chance of rain after 4 p.m. I just got home from having the oil & filter changed in the 2012 Ford Escape. And before that, I visited a new dentist. My regular dentist said I need a root canal, but that she doesn't do those on back teeth, so she sent me to a specialist. And now I'm scheduled to have it done at 7 a.m. tomorrow.

We have had a little over 2 in of rain since last night. Got soaked taking the trash to the curb and was a little grumpy until I saw the guy riding the back of the trash truck in a sweat shirt and shorts. Ran some errands and it quit raining 5 min after I got home and the groceries in the house. :)

They say 2500 families were out of power in the area but we never lost ours.

Have a good afternoon. Ed

Been raining hard here from Florence. Several tornadoes and tornado warnings. I've spent some time under the house in the crawl space.

Be safe wngsprd. Daughters in Richmond just texted large tornado hit. Here run in lost sheet that wasn't screwed down. Bent all to heck. Had to move fast yesterday and should have taken it down. Drained pool. Warm rain coming down.

Local TV station had their storm chaser vehicle out and filmed live a tornado as it hit an auto parts store and debris flying in circles high up in the air.

Drew, you really have some nice mowers.

Looks like it's doing a great job. Beats raking. How far can you go before you have to unload?

In the fall here, we have tons of post oak leaves. First I mow, then mow again and again, using the mower to mulch the leaves AMAP. I mow them into a long line and try to get much of it below the top of the grass. Then I put the bagger on and pick up the excess.

Good evening all. 73F this morning partly cloudy, calm wind. Sky cleared off, wind was light to moderate, and high temp was 93F. Cold front coming through on Friday with much cooler temps and rain :). Day started with Choir practice, then mowing, and some tree trimming. Got about half the limbs in the trash finish the rest next week, hopefully. Took me the rest of the afternoon to rehydrate.
Those who are experiencing Flo, be careful!!
Don, have to ask, what does the Zoomers club do?
Ron, nice car pics
RNG good progress on the electrical system, you will have the bike on the road in no time.
Prayers for all.

63 right now...high about 80 and rain today....not much though, less than a quarter inch.
Picked up the replacement lower link pins for the snow blower on the way home yesterday. I actually only needed one. If it isn't raining this afternoon, I'll install it this afternoon.
