Best 1" ratchet straps?

These Rhino ones seem to be on sale now. They weren't back when I first opened this thread and they were recommended. For $30 I'm willing to get a set a try. Thanks for the tip.

The rhinos I looked at just now on their website had a 1823lb break strength. To me that translates into a approx 600 lb working load limit. Seems pretty low.

Most 1" straps are 500/1500. For what I use the 1" straps for that's just fine for me. Most I would use them for is my x758 tractor that weighs in somewhere around 1200# and I'd be using 4 straps on it. For big stuff I have chains, binders and 2" straps.

I just need decent quality 1" straps that won't abrade through when you look at them wrong.

Gee, I just bought another set of these 1" crap-straps with webbing so light, they get abraded by taking them out of there package. :-( Kidding aside, I would have bought the ones you guys mention here instead if this thread would have started a week earlier!

I've never had that issue. Even the straps I've had that are have flimsy strap material that wears/abrades fast have had solid ratchets.

I have. When you’re already abusing them it’s fairly easy to break a ratchet on the cheap straps. I have plenty of cheap straps laying around with busted ratchet and a good strap.

Ancra were very good straps back in the day....these HD ones have a 1000 WLL.

One and done. Only the BEST. Mac's custom tie downs. Everything is US made, and they can configure them however you want. I use these daily in the towing industry, the "free spool" ratchets are pretty trick.

I see them all the time at the Good Guys car shows, they really do hang the car and trailer in the air with a crane, using their straps.

I have lots of them around but if I was going to order some I think I would go with Strapworks. They have an option for a stainless ratchet. The problem I've always had is that if you use them in the rain or snow after a couple years the metal starts to rust or corrode and the ratchet no longer works smoothly. Sucks to be fighting with a ratchet in the rain while trying to tie something down.

That looks pretty good. I might order a couple for tying down my mower. I usually use 2” straps for most things but I like having a few good 1” straps around. Sometimes the hook on a 2” is just too big.

Yes I have to say I’m not impressed. They’re good straps, but no better than the better orange straps at tractor supply that cost nearly half as much. They are longer then the TSC straps if that’s important to you.
