I'm curious about that myself. I would only need the backhoe a few times per year so if they can be used independently that would work for my purposes. If the backhoe attachment system prevents use of the MMM then I suppose a 3 point finish mower would be the route to go.

Just keep in mind you need plenty of room for a tractor with a finish mower, I thought the same until I actually bought one and found out I couldn't get close to things with it, if you have a large open area it will work but if you don't it wont..

Tennsawdust,

The question has been posed,
Do any of the manufacturers, provide for the simu!taneous connection of the BH subframe and a MMM.????

No one has come forward with an affirmative ans. ? Suspect if this scenario were widely desired by operators, some folks would address the mechanics to make this tandem use possible.

Which is exactly why I want the MMM instead of a trailing mower.

The MT125 can use both at the same time, but it's a three point BH. The XJ-2025 cannot. The subframe has to be removed to use the mower. Still waiting on clarification from Massey on the GC1710, but the dealer thinks it's possible to use both. The JD 1025R can use both as far as I know, but I'm not sure it has the kind of subframe we're talking about. It has the separate jumpseat though.

I have both a 90 inch and 110 inch 3 point mowers. Let us not mislead the facts. Both mowers are wider that the tread width of the tractors that power them. NOT only can I now close to obstacles, fences, trees ect. but As an additional convenience, I can back under tree drip lines, and mow right back to the trunk. I can further back between fence posts to minimize trimming, subsequent to mowing.

I have MMM experience, Ford 914, 72 inch. Do to the size and maneuverability of the tractor, the MMM offers less close proximity mowing options. The tail swing of the 3point mower is a definite asset.

EDIT:

AGAIN, the post excludes speculation. Either a subframe BH and MMM are compatible ?? Yes or No, no gray areas.

I own and have used a 3 point backhoe on a utility tractor. Experience contends that a 3 point BH will likely rip the top link right off the tractor, the compact version even less capable.

It has been reported in other forums that LS does not require top link connection for subframe BH's. It likely affirms the top link stresses exerted by every BH upon tractors w/ non-integral attachment.

Another Point, this is a specific RK thread. Unless further posts focus upon specific RK Matters, a new thread should be established, or an existing thread Germaine to the discussion in recent posts should be pursued. Posts should show deference to the intent of the OP .

The RK24 can be purchased and used with the MMM and BH, but not at the same time as the mower cannot be raised/lowered with BH attached. Not sure I’ve seen anyone mow with a BH attached. 30% of our RK24 customers that buy a BH also buy the MMM.

Hey, glad to see you back!

Good information that clears up some questions.

Thank you. I haven’t been gone, have monitored things but trying to let the forum grow and evolve naturally so I’m not jumping in at every point. Some participants look upon my direct participation positively and others think that I’m better off being silent and want to challenge our being able to compete with the established brands. Trying to strike a balance. If those participating in this forum want more RK Tractor Guy input, let me know. We just don’t want to impede the free flow of user input.
