Foggy and 71, on the way to low 90s next couple of days, not as hot as earlier predicted.
Went to a car show at the American Legion yesterday and visited mom. Ellen and I had Texas Roadhouse for dinner. We got ribs and catfish and shared. Love their sweet potatoes!

Have a good day and careful in the heat. Prayers for my friends.

drinking first cup of coffee. 75° with a few clouds this morning. Heading to 90° with thunderstorm in afternoon. Yesterday was a hot one. 95°. Unusual for this area in June. Spent most of the day inside. To day will be another inside day. Back to normal temperatures tomorrow. Good day to spend on phone with UPS customer service. They decided that I package I sent last week was 4 lbs heavier than what I paid for. I had UPS customer service at their local service center weigh and give me a receipt. It shows 1.1 pound less than I paid for. :confused3:

Eric, your making progress. I have to make a adjustment to my work bench cleanliness. I have 5 work benches. Forgot while cleaning shop I replaced one bench with roll a round drawer cabinet. That bench got moved to pole barn. It is cluttered with 3PH and PTO parts. Maybe it does not count as a workbench. Wood chipper sets in front of it. It is not visible without moving chipper.

David, my shop walls have drywall on them. Not taped or painted. Sure wish I had done it 43 years ago.

Prayers for all those in need.

Good Morning All.

Almost $21 at HD, geez, remember when it used to be cheap?

$8 in Howell, Michigan. That indicates more than 2x cost in building a house. A friend just told me that new construction here is around $190 / sq ft.

Seven years ago when we built, average here was just over $80 ft.

Makes me think my buddy was exaggerating. Not the first time. I guess I should be more careful.

Did you consider taping?
For me the taping (and subsequent sanding) was always the most laborious, dusty and messy until I hooked a DeWalt ROS to the end of a $12 wet/dry vac. Put about 2" to 3" of water in the vac and extended the intake hose down so the incoming air was directed through the water like a hookah. Made the sanding a breeze and virtually dust free. Captures all the dust in water. Just need to remember to empty and wash the vacuum base out at the end of the day or the sludge dries to rock.

Worked much like the youtube videos of power drywall sanders without the expense.
I need to try that.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 5:00 AM. Sunny. High 84F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Looks like the temperatures here are headed into the 90s tomorrow and the 100s by the weekend. Just in time for summer. Ugh.

Is alcohol being mixed with gasoline in the UK, Eric? That's the main cause for small engine problems here...

Along those lines, I've had the fuel tank from the big touring motorcycle off the bike, drained, and sitting open outside to dry out for the past several days. I'll pull and drain the float bowls off the carbs today, and remove the battery as well, and it'll be all set for a long summer nap until temperatures drop low enough to be comfortable behind the fairing again. But the main focus was puzzling out an electrical problem that had the low beam of the head light and turn signals not working. Turned out to be a loose connection under the tank, discovered as I undid each connector one-by-one to clean terminals with DeOxIt and diamond grit terminal cleaner tools. I felt like I was on a roll, so I installed a new solid state turn signal flasher that also flashes the turn signals when the brakes are applied and also converts the turn signals to running lights anytime the ignition is on. Can't get too much visibility in this age of distracted driving.

Today it's the Honda 90s turn on the lift. Catching up on over forty years of deferred maintenance, almost a year of that since I bought it. It'll be nice to start using it as a bumper bike on camping trips, as it's much lighter and easier to load then the Yamaha dirt bike.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Wet and warm down south. Temp is the 90's. Rain is also in the forecast.

Spent the weekend in Florida with my siblings celebrating my dad's 90th birthday. While we had a great time, it saddens me to see my father's deteriorating health even with the best of care we can give him.

Came home to the sad news that one of my long time friend has just passed. He will be missed.

Reading other posts around here, y'all are putting me to shame with all your work. While you are out there feeding the world, I'm still struggling with getting my tractor fixed.

Have a great day all.
