Toppop is on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay but that whole area has really gotten a hosing this year.

rain is finally starting here, hot tub felt wonderful, put in a new bromine cartridge and shocked it a little.
When it was 95 and sunny out, it raised the water temp inside to 104. I could feel it...but today at 102 where it belongs.
103 would feel better but healthier to stay lower temp I believe for heart.
Might just be back in there tonight. It's actually fun while it's raining...

got all the lettuce washed, now to pack it in Ziploc bags. That can wait until later, going to sit on front porch and
listen to the rain.

Good Morning Everyone.

And again my thanks to all the veterans and your families for your service and sacrifices; and our allied veteran and their families across the globe.

"..... Just like I won't forget (Never Forget) what happened to my distant relatives in the gas chambers in Belzec.
Lot of folks to pay our respects to."- Drew Different camps; same outcomes. Never Again for any group deemed "different."

300UGuy- I've made a lot of mistakes in my life; and way up there on the list of "boneheaded moves" was planting a couple of Russian/Autumn(?) Olives in the lower field. My original 7 acres of open field is now closer to 6 between the Olives and Poplars.

Ted- Good luck tomorrow. I support your decision to "take it easier" today:rolleyes: Tomorrow will be a "long day."

A 48F dreary misty start to the morning. I actually fired up the wood stove to warm up the house. In "theory" this weather will blow out of here this PM with increasing sunshine and temperatures hopefully hitting the low 70F's. I would like to plant some of the herbs today if possible. All kinds of bird songs and calls this time of year around here. I have a pair of resident cardinals attacking wifey's car side mirrors.. The cat bird has yet to show up and start attacking our windows. We had a great time seeing our exBIL's family in CT. It was a long, wet drive home last night; 2300 calories consumed :embarrassed:; lots of "bad eats" :embarrassed: to go along with the "good" eats.... Back to "The Plan" today.

My + thoughts, wishes, respects, and prayers for all this Memorial day.

Prayers for our fallen heroes this Memorial day. Some gave all. Time to reflect just how great we have it here, and how the vets helped shape the world and bring much peace to it.

Wifey made my delicious southern pecan decaf this morning. It goes down fast. :)

Took the kids swimming yesterday evening in the Colorado river. Water temp was nice. Water clarity was about a foot (30 centimeters).

We are hitting full summer temps and dryness early. Need to water, water, water the garden. Supposed to hit at or above 100F for next 7- 14 days. Who am I kidding, more like until late Sept. Prayers for rain.

Contemplating making spaghetti sauce to can today. Not sure I want to heat up the kitchen.

Instant Pot update. I have been waiting for a "pressure" canning model. They have a model to be released soon (for canning) that will raise the pressure a bit up to 15psi. The National Center for Home Food Preservation says not sure if the setup is totally safe yet. Botulism is the concern. Maybe I should hold off.

Wow, now we will be in the psi wars, like fuel injection.
You too can cook at 50,000 psi:shocked:

And if that hasn't blown you up, and you are down in the dumps
because your favorite girl, your 8N, just isn't spunky enough any more,
it's time for power to the people!
