Ordering an NX5010

Heyahs. Been lurking on TBN for awhile and learning a lot from you all. Building a log home on 25 acres and getting a new toy to go with it. Primary uses will be maintaining 1000' driveway, 1/2 acre parking area, land clearing and maintaining, garden and food plots, and pond building.

I'm about to order an NX5010 hst cab, 2485, loaded tires, 3rd function, piranha, and have a some questions. One is about the MIE hoe thumb, mechanical for 900 or hydraulic for 2000. One of the uses will be building different types of rock walls. Would the hydraulic be much better or save the money and go mechanical?

Another question is the radio. The Kioti radio/usb/cd is 272 and is plug and play. Is it good quality or does anyone suggest another?

Which ripper tooth would you suggest? I saw one in a 2 year old thread called the claw by MIE I think, but can't find it on the website. The Bro-Tek is about half the price of the MIE and seems sharper. Primary use would be stump removal.

Any options or accessories I should get? I do have an EA wicked root 66" dual lid grapple (custom monogrammed) and box blade on order, 7 weeks to go from 8 week lead time. Bush hog and landscape rake are next.

Save the money and buy a good aftermarket radio, they are pretty simple to install. For me I would go with the hydraulic thumb for doing a bunch of rock wall work, if your just using it to grab brush and debris the mechanical would be just fine.

Get every rear remote that is available. You may not know it, but you will end up wanting a top & tilt set for your 3pt hitch with all the grading that you need to do as well as road-drive maintenance.

NONE. Just reality once the grading begins and the continuous stopping, getting off the tractor, making the manual adjustments that you think you need, getting back on the tractor, moving 50 feet and doing it all again and again and again . If you're lucky you get to go a few hundred feet, before doing it all again.

BTDT, is why I do what I do.

He needs the set that is pictured, maybe not orange though.

Not really, it’s more personal preference , I went cheap and bought a 49 dollar unit, no CD player or anything. Just weather band. Some guys buy a higher end stereo with Bluetooth and such.

I will vouch for Brian's Top and Tilt. Ordered one for my DK40 bout 2 years ago. I had an issue with the fit and Brian was on top of it. My drive is short (couple of hundred eet) but the hydraulic makes all the difference with a box blade, spreader and other implements.

Never again will i dismount to turn the crank.

I just have hyd top link and it's nice. One thing I note though is I'm still back and forth when hooking up attachment since I always seem to need to nudge the toplink in/out to make connection. And can't see it from ground, so have to climb up, watch it move, then go back to 3pt area. Would be really convenient if the hyd cylinders had a button or something to move in/out right there at the 3pt vs having to use the lever in operator area.

Yeah...lazy....but since it's an addition for convenience anyway........

For TnT - I think a GREAT idea would be to make them work off one remote and you use a button or something on the lever to determine which cylinder is getting adjusted. If system could be run off one remote vs two, that would save a ton of $ running 2nd remote. No idea how popular these systems are or how many competing brands are out there, but if I was shopping for a TnT and my machine only came with one remote (or I was looking at $800ish? ea to add), I think I would choose the brand that ran off one remote even if it cost $200 more since that would save me $. No idea how hard that would be to engineer or if it would suck in real world use, but seems like something that would make brand A a better choice than brand B for many people.

I offer that, it's called a diverter system, $725 makes a single set into 2 sets. It isn't any easier to operate in my mind. I have it on my smaller tractor. I would rather have separate valves-control levers.

No one is going to offer a complete diverter system for $200 just because you buy a top & tilt set from them.

Cool.....didn't know that existed. I always thought TnT needed 2....never looked into it since just the "T" is good enough for me.

This is what I have on my 3215. Only a single factory rear remote is available, I needed 4. The diverters are mounted in the factory position, just a few more outlets though.

There is the single grey control grip for the rear remotes, it has 3 separate switches in it. 2 buttons, 1 trigger.

I have a hydraulic top link from Brian(FitRite). Its a real game changer when dealing with ground engaging implements. Saves COUNTLESS - stop/get down/make adjustment/get back up and go - go thru this routine about X number of times and all of a sudden - you no longer give a S**T. Hydraulic top link allows minute adjustments on-the-go to fine tune an implements operation.

Approx 2 weeks to get from PA and will have a piranha bar and ripper tooth ready by the time it arrives. Have a EA root grapple and box blade on order but won't get here for another 6 weeks (8-2) Might order their bush hog and rake too, depending on time.
Kioti salesman did say 3rd remote wasn't available for the NX only RX but I corrected him with my TBN knowledge. Need to get with Brian and see how long for a TnT.
Shopping for implements is addictive. Good thing I have a supportive wife.
Have 500+yds of unscreened rich loam and needing a 1yd bucket and screener to use after 1 acre pond excavation. A Kioti might be as much fun as a Harley.

Depending on what end of the order you're on, (not so good for my customers, but good for me ) but currently out at about 20 weeks. Even at 20 weeks people are still ordering at about the same rate that I can build these things. So I'm not expecting the lead times to drop significantly anytime soon if at all.

You would be looking at $890 + shipping costs for a complete top & tilt set. 2 cylinders built for your tractor, 2 hose kits and 2 sets of flow restrictors. Orange paint is optional.

Oh, and I believe that you will find that you will forget about any Harley after working with this stuff. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Three hydraulic remotes is easily done. Order two number two kits and stack them under the one number one valve kit and go to fastenall and order longer bolts. Here is my NX with three hydraulic remotes.
