Satoh Beaver 370D Won't Start

I replaced the starter on a Satoh Beaver 370D with one that has gear reduction. Does this affect the spinning of the engine ? Could this be the reason it won't start ?

Would that not be the opposite? is reduction not gearing down to get more torque rather than RPM's.

I think the service manual provides step-by-step directions and you can used these step for repair and replacement of starter.

It's a diesel, so "spark" isn't technically an issue.... air might be a good thing to have too:thumbsup:

+1. Lack of or reduced fuel delivery is the place I would start looking.

Glow plugs...... most older engines need them even on warmer days.

I second that as I own a Mitsu, while in decent condition and maintained it still wants glow plug heat in warm weather. (in winter it wants 2 cycles even with plugged in block heater). Otherwise a great tractor.
