Good Morning!!!! 63F @ 2:45AM. Sunny. High 82F. Winds light and variable.

Up to answer Nature's call, back to count a few more sheep soon.

One thing I quickly learned about the PHD was to throttle down the RPMs so it wasn't spinning so quickly. That kept it from flopping wildly on the end of the rig when lifted clear of the ground and gave me time to jerk it back up if it started screwing itself into the ground.

Pretty little coup, Kyle. Bet your daughter can't wait for the first egg!

Waste not, want not, right Eric? I agree with you about the smell of slowly cooking stew; just nothing like it, even if it does come from an Instant Pot.

Tire changing went very smoothly yesterday, getting all four off the rims and the new ones on in a little more than an hour. It helped a great deal that I brought the trailer up to the garage and used an impact wrench on the lug nuts, and the tires were nicely warmed from being stored in the box trailer out in the sun so the beads all sealed with compressed air. Efforts to get both tail lights working were an afterthought, unfortunately after I'd moved the trailer back down to the woodlot. Bad bulbs on both sides, one looking like it had been underwater for a long time. Then two wires completely stripped of insulation where they emerged from a flame cut hole in the trailer frame, with one wire having no voltage when it should be flashing. I seem to recall going through this before with this trailer, but now it has two new lights on it, both mounted upside down, so whoever screwed it up the first time has had another go at it. :duh:

Got started cleaning a carb for the big dirt bike yesterday by getting it all apart and into the Berryman's "rejuvenator" formula. Turned the heat on the ultrasonic cleaner all the way up to 80C, and wow how that stuff evaporated! Lost half of it during the first 30 minute cleaning cycle, and it turned the pot metal a dark gray in spots. Think I'll switch over to Stoddard solvent for today's festivities and see how that goes.

Happy Hump Day, all!

Saw this deal on CPO and thought of you RNG. At $160 each you could have a herd of robo-vacs?

Looks like 28* for the low this morning. Today is going to be sunny and in the mid 60's with a 10-15 mph wind. It's supposed to be nice the next few day's.

The goats survived the trip down in the back of a flat bed pickup, we didn't have to seatbelt them in. I have never been to a live stock auction before, it was interesting. They had a lot more goats then I thought they would.

Making a trip to town this morning and probably help the neighbor work on his trailer this afternoon. Monday afternoon a couple of the neighbor and I went for a ride on the fore wheelers and seen over hundred head of elk. They are starting to move back up for the summer.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good morning to all! Little chilly this morning, low was about 40. A cold front pushed through, no rain. High up to about 64. Warmer tomorrow, then another cold front tomorrow night. Slight chance of precip with that one.

Kyle, nice coupe' chicks should like it...like Drew said...needs some action photos.

PJ, have the same Budda statue...he will find a new home in the Zen garden when completed.

Randy, glad to hear you're getting over the crud, but still take it easy...don't need a repeat.

Sodamo, glad to hear that Sophie is feeling a little better, keep up the routine.

Prayers out for those needing them. Have to go PT for the knee now.

Good morning everyone.

A rainy 40F start to the morning and nothing much has changed since. The wood stove feels real good this AM. The wife and I both had prime rib last night. Nothing on the plate would pass the plant based diet test. :( A lot of nice leftovers for finicky eating Brogen.

Kyle- Thanks for the + birthday wishes for the wife. Your chicken coop is reflective of your skills as a woodworker. Nice work. Your chickens will thank you. A pileated woodpecker so "tame" is a rarity. A nice gift from Nature.

M_G- Thanks for the + thoughts for the wife.

Randy- I am happy to read that you are on the "mend." I hope that it continues.

Roy- My + thoughts for your neighbor's wife. What you posted does not read well.

Ted- Please take care. Thanks for sharing.

PJ- Thanks for sharing.

David- Thanks for the wife's birthday wishes. It is great news about Sophie. I hope that whatever is "working" keeps on working and Sophie continues to improve daily. I started CBD oil last night; 3000mg. Dosing is a guessing game there are no standards. Since it's in an coconut oil suspension I am assuming it is liver stored and will take about a month to "kick in." I base this "idea" on how sesame oil based Prolixin Deconoate injections worked on psychotic patients.

Don- I am trying to wrap my head around all this diet stuff. When I first got sick the high levels of steroids saving my life pushed my poor pancreas over the edge and I became a brittle diabetic. My liver was not a happy camper either. I/We started the "Joslin Diabetic Diet" which evolved to the "South Beach"/"Mediterranean Diet" as I improved and became just a boring, well maintained, insulin dependent diabetic and got a "little loose" with the diet until today. Although my focus is on anti-inflammatory foods the secondary benefit would reduce my ?borderline? high cholesterol levels because there is so much in common with the plant based diet. Inflammatory foods include sugar, artificial sweeteners and additives, all seed based vegetable oils (depends on processing) with the exception being E.V. olive oil and coconut oil (I am really confused about peanut oil?),fried foods, refined/processed flour, dairy products with the possible exception of yogurt?,artificial anything, all grain fed meats especially if the meat has antibiotics and hormones, all processed meats, and all fast foods. Soy products are confusing me. I should cut out the martinis and light beer too, but I am not there yet. My new blood sugar baseline = 140 = :( I called my primary doctor to get my expired prescription for test strips renewed. I need to start testing more regularly to help get a handle on all this.

Not the best experimental design for this research study one "one."

My + thoughts, wishes and prayers for all.

I hope that everyone has a decent or at least manageable day.

.

Roy- My + thoughts for your neighbor's wife. What you posted does not read well.

I know...when chatting with my neighbor (the husband), he mentioned they want to take a vacation in September. They had also told her doctor the same...the doctor's response (according to my neighbor) was "that's a good idea to take a vacation in the next few months"..."next few months" doesn't mean wait until September.
But, it's hard to say how fast the cancer will progress. Kim (the wife with the cancer) is still working. She looks good, but has lost weight (NOT emaciated). She's home and on chemo every other week. She might have years to go....but it is a tough thing, no doubt.

65°F and 1.02 inches rain. I see a ray of hope - sunshine.

Hopefully will be dry enough to start mowing.

Prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day
