CaseIH DX22e
Hi folks,

I bought a used CaseIH DX22e with MFD and loader last fall. It's used with 400 hrs on it. I use it to cut grass and till.

I parked last fall in my shop with no issue for the winter. I started it up this weekend and did some minor work around the yard for about an hour and parked it. When I came to use it the next morning, there was a puddle of oil by the front left tire. The drain and fill plug are tight and wasn't coming from those 2 points, but somewhere up in the casting of that axle by the tire.

Has anyone with this series of tractor (or the New Holland versions) have such an issue? I'm going to assume that I have a seal leak and will have to replace it. Has anyone ever done this before and if so any pointers?

Thanks!

I've done 3 or 4 seals as well as bearings on a case front axle maybe a size bigger than yours but it wasn't overly difficult . Put the front on a couple jack stands or what ever you have pull the front wheel off & start undoing nuts and bolts. I think you'll find it straight forward if not take a few pics. and post them and I'm sure some one here will help if I can't.

Not posting this pic. to scare you I had a few bearings to replace as well on this one you should only have to do the seal the arrow is pointing at. Check that outer bearing closely as well that's what went a couple times to cause my seals to leak but I was carrying far to many heavy loads.

Yup - you made me nervous!! Many thanks for the visual. Being a YouTube fan (with so many DIY videos), not much on the CaseIH / New Holland's if this model/year/series to follow along.

That looks like the same setup that the BX Kubota and the GC MFs use, have heard of a couple of them leaking where the housing turns as you turn the steering. Don't look like a real big challenge to fix.
