A basketball seems like an awful big ball for a 6 year old. Do they use an age appropriate sized ball and lower basket?
Little smaller ball than normal. When mine played it was a lower basket also.

Old age is tough. I only worked on the yard for 4 hours and was worn out. But at least no effects from the fall yesterday. And I still have 4 to 6 hours more lawn work to do. But it'll just have to wait for another day. The thatch was really bad in the part of the yard that has St. Augustine grass, and the Mantis tiller dethatching attachment does say it isn't recommended for St. Augustine grass. It'll do the job, but the runners keep get wrapped around the tines and shaft and it's slow and tedious stopping to clean them out frequently.

60 degrees going for a high of 81 today. I started working on the lawns yesterday, doing some dethatching with the Mantis tiller dethatching attachment, and mowing with the bagger. I also made one small error and fell on the concrete steps at the back of the shop and did a back flip off there onto the grass. As I was falling, I was thinking "sure hope nothing breaks." So I was so terribly tired and sore that I went to bed at 5 p.m. yesterday, moved from the bed to my recliner about 2 a.m. this morning, then slept until after 5 a.m. And surprisingly enough, almost no soreness this morning, so I better get out there and get back to work on the yard. I did the front yesterday, now need to work on the backyard.

Glad you are OK. I want a small tiller too.

If i get a ZT, will probably be gravely HD series.
Wife is allergic to brazile nuts, in addition to peanuts and cashews.

Gravley makes good dependable equipment and that seat very comfortable

The Gravely with the new fuel injected v twin Yamaha makes a sparkle in my eye, but the prices are crazy.

easy drive from VA up to Princeton NJ. Lot of tree damage here too.
I'm home alone as my sister and husband went to a funeral, and I have heated up my neck warmer, my
heating blanket has warmed up the bed (my sister is a genuine tree hugger low house temper) but I see they raised the thermostat to 68 from 64 for me. Much appreciated. Off to dinner tonight with my next older brother and wife and my younger sister and husband. All good.
Now for a few chapters in my book.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Ever thought about picking up some flannel lined pants for the winter, Drew? I have some from LL Bean that are very comfortable, and keep me warm with I'm out in the garage with temps in the 40s & 50s. They let me save a little wood and not feed the stove so much when I'm inside, too. But sheesh, 64F inside? I'd have to wear a stocking cap to keep my ears warm!

Hope your return drive goes as smoothly.

I have a friend with a 110V pump that I'm sure he will lend me, so I just need to find a way to feed it with a few amps. Another friend gave me a 2.8KW generator a year or two ago that I've done nothing with, apart from confirm that it doesn't work, so trying to get that running is the next bit of fun.

I thought the UK was on 230V?

Glad you are OK. I want a small tiller too.

I bought a Mantis direct from the company several years ago, and it was good. But with age, it had gotten a little contrary about starting, and the grease seal was leaking at the gear box. So I gave it to my grandson, who is a truck mechanic, and I bought a new one a year ago last month. This time I just bought from a local tractor and lawn equipment dealer. And another reason for buying it was that I'd had some surgery and this new one has their "fast start" system. You just pull the rope slowly and, of course, it's winding a spring that will let go and turn the engine. Very easy to start.

JerryBob- I am envious about the eagles. I hope that they breed successfully. They may be fish stealing "bully birds," but they are magnificent. We vacation at a lake in the Adirondacks that has a successfully fledged quite a few eaglets over the years. They did drive the ospreys away. There are a couple of lakes/ponds around here that have nesting eagles as well as along the CT. River.

Bird- 4 hour day of physical activity in the yard is pretty decent.

Don- I appreciate your research efforts on a plant based diet. The information that you have provided makes me think.

Drew- I hope that you have a boring uneventful drive back home.

A boring day here as I had hoped.

Heck, Drew....64 is higher then we keep our thermostat. We're far from tree huggers (although there are a lot of pseudo-tree huggers in Vermont). We keep ours at 62 degrees. When we're not using the wood stove, we just put a sweater or sweat shirt.

As you age you will find it harder to live in that low temperature.

One of the selling points around here is energy usage.
Keeping the temp bills real low (cool in the winter, warm in the summer) can make a well insulated house appear super insulated.

I've been known to wear a cap when it's down in the mid 50's.

I like sitting around in my LL Bean flannel shirts in the winter.
The thermometer right above the mantel is showing a toasty 64F.
