The CTL isn’t an effective replacement for a compact tractor. It cost twice as much and destroys the ground it runs on. If you can live with those short comings it’s an amazing tool. It makes a tractor loader look like an actual tinker toy tractor. It’s a last years model so it’s not pre emissions. It’s around 90 hp so DEF is required.
I finally got the opportunity to run one, though it was wasn't really a CTL as it was wheeled. The hydraulic power is what really makes these things WORK. And, the strength of the machine's body makes you feel like even if something bad were to happen around you you're going to come out alive! The one I rented was used to augur post holes and for that work there isn't anything that can touch it: being able to reverse a 12" augur buried over 3' in heavy clay is something to really appreciate! This and the excavators I run always make me smile when I get back on my tractor(s)- I prefer sitting up on a wheeled vehicle (not as productive, but the view is nice, and I can get around much faster). If I had lots of money I'd for sure have a CTL.
