Thanks for finding that!

It looks like the 5x10 Heavy, $25, is equivalent to what I have - assuming it is nylon. (Mine is black nylon). Highly recommended!

You're welcome. My only concern is that the used one could be week but what do I know...lol.

I may buy some myself to fit over the utility trailer. I like how little space this would take when stored.

You might ask him if this is the type used for winching the catch aboard. I think lighter netting is used for a 'funnel' to guide fish into the lift net, you probably don't want funnel net. I'll be interested to hear what he replies.

A couple of times around here I have seen flatbed hay wagons used for firewood. They bounce pretty good and vibrate pieces right of the edge.

Despite binder requirements, it isn't uncommon in winter for snow covered logs to fall off log trucks. One winter I gathered my entire firewood supply for the following year by picking up hardwood from the side of the road.

This scrap of commercial fishnnet really is ideal because it doesn't stretch and has incredible strength.

The elastic 'spiders' sold for the same purpose seem useless to me. Someone arrived at our mining camp way up in the woods missing a sleeping bag that had slipped out of the cartop elastic net on his Land Cruiser. Since then I've never considered buying one.

I used to have a piece of fishnet too. It's great! Have you checked at the fishing pier? Sometimes they will have a piece that's not too useful for them.

So.... your advice is to call the police & LIE to them about something that YOU think is unsafe?

This the kind of thing you teach your children?

The Officer who does respond would rather you called before the skidsteer or any other piece of equipment slides off a trailer and onto a car or pedestrian.

In the same vein, if you ever call in a car that is driving foolishly, mention that it is driving erratically and you are concerned that the driver may be under the influence. In NY at least, that gives a officer reasonable cause to pull a car over without seeing them tailgate, or otherwise drive foolishly.

So, you wouldnt have a problem sleeping if you turned on the news after seeing that truck and watching the lead story be about someone who got killed or maimed because that skidsteer fell off of the trailer and landed on the hood of their car 15 minutes after you saw it?

Thank you Aaron, saved me a reply. Has always been my expieriance that someone with that look the other way is doing something wrong them self

I agree, however I think what LD48750 was saying is that you should report the facts, not make things up because you think it'll get a better response.
I we get a report of a peice of equipment that doesn't appear to be secured our response is the same as if you saying it's sliding around.

Yes report it, but just give an accurate report, not make things up that you think will change the response.

Drove by road work today. They had the work trucks at each end. Pair of cruisers with lights flashing between trucks, protected by line of cones. Both officers in the crowd talking to the guys doing the work.

I think I understand what the officers are saying, I will teach my Grandkids to LIE to the police whenever they encounter them.
From what I've seen, that's what police do. Lie to get the results they want.

If that's what they want, that's what I'll teach them.
Too bad that isn't the way my parents taught me.

Are you saying that theskidsteer isn't sliding at all on the trailer, not even 1 inch? I would probably phrase it that the skidsteer was "not chained down or otherwise secured and free to slide around on the trailer, or even slide off of the trailer"

Wow I hope you are not serious. Hard to tell over the internet. Politeness, respect, and the truth will get you further in any interaction with LEOs.

That's not what I'm saying at all, factual reports get convictions.
If you have to testify on an incident that you reported and ther is inconsistencies when compared the initial report it hurts the case or worse gets the offender off because of it.

I don't know of any officer that ask someone to knowingly provide a false report.
