I log in multiple ways and have a few means in which to do so. Lately it has been with my bulldozer and log trailer.

Nice rig, but you might want to wear some more protective clothing/gear when you use your chainsaw, or at least ditch the heels.

So, I need to pull down some trees that are hung up on other trees. Some are very large oaks. I own a small 25hp tractor. After some research, it looks like a few snatch blocks and cable will do the trick. I don't believe I need to invest in any sort of winch attachment to do this, as I just cut wood for myself in my own woods. Maybe a hand winch like the More Power Puller would do the job, but that thing is over 300 bucks. So, could someone recommend a few snatch blocks and cable? Other thoughts?
Are these trees still attached to the roots? Are the roots still at least partially in the ground. That's going to make a difference in getting them down.

That's why they also call it ironwood...
I thought most folks referred to Hornbeam as ironwood (actually separate species)...never heard black locust called that...

i'm with you. ironwood is ironwood and locust is locust though there are two kinds black and honey
