Someone recommended using safety wire thru the roll pins so they couldn't back out. I would imagine a greased piece of mechanics wire would last for years.

I agree. I think if mine ever comes out again, I will put a little longer one and and use wire. So far, so good.

Good deal. I think safety wiring things has become a lost art with the invention of nyloc nuts and loctight. Worked on KC130s and everything was safety wired.

In my earlier year in the Army, I supervised an Armament shop. I have wire tied a few 50 Cals and other weapon systems. LOL. They gave us those cool wire tie pliers with cork screw handle. :thumbsup:

Hahahaha Those safety wire pliers were great! I just wish I hadn't given all mine away. Wouldn't use them enough now to justify buying a new pair.

Did anyone post a picture of the new drain plug? I am around 90 hours now and I had the 50 hour service done by the dealer and he replaced the drain plug. I noticed a wet spot under the front axle of my tractor recently and confirmed it is oil. The attached picture of the front axle shows the drips of oil coming down. I confirmed there was oil around the drain plug in the other picture. I wiped it clean and tried to confirm no oil was above that point, and am pretty sure that is the source. Oil reappeared near the drain plug when I checked 24 hours later. The oil on the dipstick is in the middle of the range.

The plug is an 8mm hex that I can't get good access to. The short side of my hex wrench is not long enough to reach it and I can't turn it with the long end in. I ordered a T handle 8mm hex wrench to see if I can get better leverage.

That is the correct plug and I used an allen socket with a 3/8 drive ratchet as mine leaked right off. Not as bad as your for sure. I would just snug it up as that is all I did to mine and solved the problem. Hope this helps.

Mine is the same type of plug also. I changed it out myself when I did the last oil change. I remember it had one of those copper washers on it. I also used an Allen point 3/8 drive, extention, and ratchet. Didn't torque it real tight, but pretty tight, if you know what I mean. No leaks observed so far, but I've only started up and moved in and out of the garage a couple times, no real work.

Oh, I can't remember if the copper washer was one of the type that has the rubber center ring / seal
