The low this morning was 14*, the high yesterday was 55*. They are saying today is going to be a little cooler but still sunny with a lite wind.

If today is going to be like yesterday, I think I'll go out and practice on doing some welding. I need to remember to buy paint so I can finish the toolbox this week, forget it last week.

Have elecric backup on upstairs unit, but normally keep the breaker off so it wont come on. Turn it on when it hit single digits. Turned breaker on last week. Last night was 9, did not call for backup.

I keep track of my electric with spreadsheet myself, utility does not do it like i do... Have done it since 1997 when house was built.

Has your wife tried Xeljanz for her RA? My wife was recently started on it and it has been a game changer for her.

She tried it about a year ago.. Couldn't tolerate it, just like most meds she was put on. She has a list of meds that she has reactions / side effects to that is about 40 long and growing. She almost died a few years ago when she was given just 2mg of morphine. Crazy stuff. Has had mild success w/ specific diet and herbal supplements. Next is to try CBD oil. Heard of good success with that.

rswyan- Our electric bill this month was ~$80 which is our average Winter use Our house is solar oriented; A/C is our biggest electric cost. We had an "energy audit" and all our incandescent light bulbs were replaced with CFL and LED lights. We heat with wood in conjunction with a propane gas central heating system, cooktop, and dryer. All or electrical appliances are "Energy Star" rated except our old oven, and I usually use our outdoor charcoal grill for roasts, etc.

I do not understand how they figure out those "Home Energy Reports." Every month our average daily usage goes down from the previous year. This month it is down 18.8% from last year's consumption and the way I read that neighborhood comparison we are energy hogs. I do not know if they are including homes with solar panels in the comparisons.

If my bill shows temps, i will see if i can factor that in to my calcs.

I keep debating solar panels, but only feasible if i do the install. Got a quote last yr, where i own it. Over $20k and wont do my whole load.

Since i built in 1997, used 337,801kwh at $29,893. Spent $13,600 on oil from 1997 to 2011. Spent $7606 on wood pellets since 2001. Total energy cost $51,100 since 1996.

MA is a medical and recreational marijuana state. You owe to your wife and to yourself to give it a try. CBD is a lot safer as an anti-immflamatory agent than Prednisone and a few other prescribed medications.

We actually got our paperwork for this project in on the last day at literally the last hour on the Friday deadline by the solar company. They heavily marketed this area.

They upgraded our meter and I think they can remotely read it now from a distance, without actually having to look at it.

We used to see the meter reader walking from house to house every month, but then they replaced all the meters with what some call "smart" meters so they're supposed to transmit the data back to the power company and we never have a meter reader anymore.

25°F and snowing this morning, looking for temps to fall through the day down to the single digits overnight tonight. We got about 1" or so of snow at our place. We had light flurries most of the weekend, but no real accumulation until early this morning. Couple more days of deep freeze, then back to more normal 40s and 50s for highs towards the end of the week.

Glad to read that David survived the not-a-missle-attack, and that Eric survived his muck chiropractic adjustment. Not to mention, everyone else bumping their heads and such.

Wife informed me yesterday that our electric bill was up near $300 for last month. I had to remind her, as she was running around turning off all the "unnecessary" LED lights, that the problem was the furnace running frequently during the near record 14 days below freezing. That, and constantly running the split unit in the sunroom along with a small space heater in an attempt to save her tropical plant she got free from a local nursery last fall. The LEDs are the least of our problems. It's just cold here this winter.

I made one trip out early Saturday morning to drop of a payment, and spent the rest of the weekend at home. I always strive for those weekends where I get in my car Monday morning and realize I haven't driven it since Friday evening. Got close this time. Spent much of that time in my studio. Got a lot of stuff done.

LouNY- As I understand the MA process once an individual is medically approved by the Department of Public Health sends notifications to other State Agencies including LE and it is up to the discretion of the local chief of police to approve, deny, and revoke one's LTC.

I do have a LTC.

I believe that CBD oil and CBD products which are not psychoactive are legal for sale in all US states; products with THC are not and can not be mailed due to Federal laws

I definitely agree about Big Brother watching.

PJSprog- We have a Mitsubishi split unit and it seems to be a energy hog as a heater. I will not operate it in temperatures below freezing.

All states have there own methods and states may or may not go after individuals, but buying a new firearm and filling out the GCA paperwork you will either have to perjure yourself or you will be denied permission to purchase by federal regulation.

All of our weapons are registered in my name. Not sure if there would be any cross checks done. She's not going to get a card, that's for people who want to smoke pot. She can't by any means smoke it. CBD oil is injested, either by incorporation into food, drops into fluid, or by capsule form. There is minimal to near no THC component in it. You can actually buy it and get it shipped over the Internet. Talking two different animals here.

My buddy told me about some marketer that tried to sell one of those "deal programs." I asked him if he wanted to pay someone to have them use his roof for their own energy production with a "reduced" cost savings in electricity when he could own his own solar system to produce electricity with no middlemen other than the electric company making profit. He actually saw my "logic"

I seemed to have fallen behind here a bit.

Really can’t comment on situation without getting political - oh wait that’s why the local news is inundated with just about every politician in the state.!
So far, the one comment missing is how this would not have happened if the political opportunists hadn’t instituted this scare tactic a month ago.
Actually after hearing the warning on the radio I soon determined it must be in error as I couldn’t find a single reference on the internet, unlike the False Alarm message which seemed to flood in seconds.

My electric bills do have temps, problem is the estimated bills mess things up. My nov bill was only $50 due to way overestimated oct bill.
