I don't know if it ever made it to 70 yesterday, but it was close...warm enough for me to start my log splitter with 1 pull! (I had primed with a shot of SeaFoam the night before). Got my small remaining stack of rounds split and brought to the porch.

Just in time for temps to return to the mid-teens. It's 54 now, although the overnight low was supposed to be 39, and then dropping through the day to freezing by sunset.

Lou, enjoyed the snowy ride down your lane, and the deer tracks.

I'm excited to see the new tractor pix from Einthewoods, and Randy's Kubota.

Toppop52- Now you know 3.5. I am retired. I always thought that one had to be crazy to get into the field. After +30 years in the field, I still believe that one needs to be "crazy" as a requirement for hire in the human social "services."

Don’t get me wrong, I meshed so well that one told me I should have been psychiatric doc! So it may take crazy to know crazy.

Nothing is new, started last night, again tonight after taking meds. Tonight i only took 2 meds and it happened. Tomorrow will do only one at a time. Been taking these meds for yrs.

My father in law developed a major allergy to penicillin when he was 74 and five days into a ten day course.

54 now but dropping like Hollywood producers. High of 69 yesterday, Lynn hated cold weather and always said she was moving her birthday to July, well yesterday was her birthday and the warm weather showed up right on que!

56 degrees, high for the day. 1.07 inches of rain. And yes I will go dump out my "udometer" so it doesn't break again. We have another week long blast of cold weather coming in now. Ground is so wet nothing can get done outside, but maybe I'll get done some barn projects I never got to yesterday.
Instead in the rain I planted more RockyTop salad mix in my seedling trays. I plant a little each week to stagger the growth. Onions and lettuce for January, starts getting serious in Feb with more to plant inside.

Might see if I can wash my car and truck while the hose isn't frozen and it's nice outside.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Buckeye, It could even be the coloring they add to the pills. I am told that they can change it and cause problems. My boy used to take Benadryl for a sleeping pill. After years of that he started having seizure like symptoms and was even fooled the top Dr in the area. We got another Dr and she took away the benadryl and they stopped overnight. prayers sent. Ed

Good morning all, 36 this morning with a high of 36 and dropping to 13 tonight. 20% chance of showers this morning as well. Oatmeal/porridge is made and cooking in the rice cooker. Plan to lay as low as I can and watch instead of doing much today.

JBrumburg, I was told when I was taking my counseling classes that a large number of counselors are people needing a counselors. Maybe I would fit into your vacation spot as well.

Randy, Praying Brother.

Have a great day. Ed

Roy- I am glad that you made it home safely in all the fog. I am assuming that you traveled home via 91N. The CT river valley is historically a fog trap. It is nasty here in the Berkshire Hills presently even at higher elevations.

Yes, I came north on I-91...pretty slow going, but at least it wasn't freezing!

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 6° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 18° with partly cloudy skies. Not much planned today. Help wife clean house would get me some points and keep me out of the cold. Made a big mess in lawn next to walkway while cleaning up snow with tractor. It was very wet in the area from thawing and rain. A spring project in the making.
JB, nice video.
Buckeye, hope you figure out rash problem.
All other get well soon.
Good Morning All.

24 right now and that's where it's going to stay. There's also a mix coming down...light, right now but I'm sure it's frozen stuff.
No plans today...not a good day to go anywhere...

8 degrees this morning though no real wind.

We're going to head over to Amish country this morning to get the monthly supplies at the feed store, general store and browse for an hour or so through the hardware store. Something about non big-box hardware stores...can mill around in them forever.

Then back home to tinker with the new tractor!

Good happy Saturday!

Yesterday at this time the temp was 40F. This morning it is -12 and going to a high of -4F. Wind NNW 11 gusting to 17 mph. No snow in the forecast. I was going to go out and plow today, but I think I will wait until Sunday when the temps are above zero.

I got the Jeep back yesterday afternoon about 4:30. Too late to do anything other than drive it home.
The original quote was for $801.oo and due to exhaust manifold bolt issues it cost me extra on labour. Total cost tax in was $942.43. I knew they would have trouble with the manifold bolts/studs. This is a 16 year old vehicle that the manifolds have never been off.

We will see how fast the oil pressure gets up this morning. Usually after sitting overnight in sub-zero temps I would need to start it twice, because the low oil pressure warning bell would sound off after the first start. I didn't plug in the block heater because the tractor is plugged in (same circuit for both).

Lou, that is an 'interesting' driveway, almost like living at the top of a mountain.

For you guys talking about crazy, can you define normal?

Have a good day all

Sorry to hear about the jeep repair costs. Bummer. Here in Northern Michigan they use tons of salt to keep the roads less icy. Not sure if they do that in your area or not. Absolutely destroys vehicles. After a number of years you cringe when you have to work on anything exposed to it as you know it could be a nightmare with rounded or breaking fasteners.

Morning all a balmy 15F this morning after 60F yesterday.
Yes, my driveway has made for some interesting times. Lots of experience with all sorts and styles of chains, studded tires and different plowing and sanding vehicles.
Had 5 daughters that learned to drive on it, 2 came out good drivers, 1 OK, an 2 what where you thinking abouts.

38 outside this AM, wind is really bad. Yesterday we got to 71. Flew in on Monday. Re-arranging house again for the wife. We are located mainly in our sun room, on the first floor. Trip home was smooth. Minus my panic attack at the airport looking for a missing walker. Had to go through TSA about three times since it was "seen" on the other side of the security gates. People must have though I was "special" since me and a few TSA people took shortcuts. LOL.

Wife is doing OK, just me stressing and not sleeping. I have full time couch duty. I have found it is not wide enough for a good sleep. I may hunt down a mattress from another building today.

Farm held up well during the arctic cold we had here. Unfortunate, a car, a truck and my little Kubota batteries did not fair well. So I played jump master a day or so ago. Even a ZTR had an issue starting, not the battery though. I let them all run for a while, mid-winter startups, LOL.

Nothing else going on, just in full-time nurse mode and lacking the quick convenience of shopping like I had in NYC. It was sweet not cooking and cleaning for a short while.

I hope all have a great day, and be safe today.

Thanks for your kind words and support through my life adventure thus far.
