My sarcasm wasn't clear enough I guess.

Trust me, when you live on a hill that we do, even the 2" we got overnight is a chore.

Would be nice if Buppies could put good word in for us folks about January thaw soon.

Must not be Germantown, WI.. as it has been too cold for slushy snow. Maybe out East somewhere?

Germantown, NY. It was 33* out so yep, wet and slushy. It was like trying to snowblow thick oatmeal. Then yesterday we got a good freeze going, went down to 14* last night, too. Maybe I'll try again and have better luck.

So about a week ago my front blower stopped spinning about 100' out of my garage. Ugh. I used my rear blade to finish the 7" we received.
I find out the drive chain fell off and I assume it was the link that let go. I get to a dealer and $40 later the blower was fixed. We get another 6" on Christmas day and as I'm blowing 150' from the house, get what I found?
Yup, the chain. Luckily the only damage was the impeller shear bolt.

I had hoped I'd find the chain but the spring would of been preferred.

Consider doing a riveting job on the master link by installing the side plate and omitting the spring clip.

Hold a heavy hammer like a small sledge hammer on the back side of the master link and then peen the end where the spring clip would normally go.

It will never come off. It might be a bit tighter than the other links but that will soon free up.

Something to be aware of, on spring clips as well as snap rings there is a square side and a rounded side. Always put the square side away from the object being retained so the square side is taking the load.

The rounded side will allow the clip/ring to climb out of the slot easier under side pressure.

Thanks guys I certainly now know more about spring clips than I thought I'd I needed to know.

Oh great!
One more thing that I won't be able to see without "extreme lighting" and my cheaters.
