Good morning! Below freezing for the third morning in a row and were not suppose to have 4" of snow or freezing temps before Christmas. Time to dig the potatoes out of the garden to see if they have developed. The Christmas Tree Farm in Elgin ran out of trees two weeks ago and that make the Austin news. One of the owners is in our volleyball group. I have the job of finding the Christmas Tree (10-12') for our church this year so I'll head in the opposite direction, if all fails I'll be looking at one of my cedar trees.

Unable to find a hinge router guide yesterday. Might need a plan B and just free hand the mortises. I did buy the Ryobi palm router. Looks like it should be easier to handle than full size.

I've had pretty good luck tracing the mortise edge with a wood chisel or Xacto knife, then using the router to clean out the rest. Still takes a pretty steady hand and a sharp eye, though...

65ーF and no rain

Good time at Christmas party yesterday. Spent too much money at Costco, as usual.

Kekoa has a play date over to a friends later. This is unchsrtered territory for me. These are good friends whose puppy was in class behind Kekoa but didn稚 finish as he didn稚 travel well. What does one do on a doggy play date???

Be safe
Have a great day.

Anytime we walk out of Costco under $300, we are doing well!! As for the puppy play date, the dogs will find their own fun, as long as your dog doesn't get too territorial, we take our dogs to dog parks, they seem to get along well. My woodworking is confined to rough carpentry....

Last Thursday's Costco visit only cost me five bux, for a whole roast chicken! Gotta be one of the best deals in the whole store!:laughing::licking:

We've had a membership in Sam's Club since the first one opened in Dallas, and we have two Sam's Club stores closer than the nearest Costco. So we've not paid for a Costco membership. However, I can't even remember the last time we bought a whole RAW chicken. Those roasted chickens from Sam's Club, or even Walmart, are hard to beat.

Yea, the steady hand and sharp parts are my problem LOL

Snow blower is off the truck and I used it to clear the walks. The skid shoes are set too high for the walks, so I'll have to adjust them (previous owner had them set high because he cleared a gravel/dirt drive).
I also did my drive with the tractor...not really enough snow for a snow blower, but figured I'd do it since I had to move the tractor anyway.
Guy came by and bought the chains I had for my Deere 4400...
Pretty good day, all in all!
Time for a beer!

You guys, up North, need to “train” your snow like we do in South Texas. It doesn’t snow on driveways and it all disappears in 24 hours.

Not sure I’ve ever been under $300 except for a very focused, specific purchase trip. Yesterday was more than twice that. My “joy” bar is $500, not usually met. To be fair, we only go maybe 4 times a year, usually based on needing dog food or a holiday. What I save on dog food offsets the trip.

Play date is at other dog’s house. Friends say she likes other dogs coming over. I’d be hesitant to host as our female hasn’t really had that exposure although she’s had 2 litters and 4 other live ins over the years. She would tend to be protective of Kekoa and Simba the cat. Kekoa is used to playing with Kalani and Simba. My concern is Boxers play rough. When we bred and had litters if you heard 5 week old pups playing you’d swear they were trying to kill each other
