Buppies, I was looking at some raw data yesterday, if that model is correct a big nor’easter with snow from the Baltimore/Washington metro up the east coast to New England in the 10/15 December range. Rain for us, thankfully.
Drew, looks great, wish I had that spirit.
20’s early, 50’s later.

Farmer, what do you use for ammonia control? Ive used lime here, it’s the only thing the feed mill sells for it.

I use a product called Poultry Litter Treatment. http://joneshamiltonag.com/product/plt/

We only use it in the brood chamber. 7,600 sqft. Brood and use 600 pounds of plt.

It’s safe to apply while birds are present also. The acid it’s made from is a food grade acid found in many of our daily products. Sodas, bisquick, and others. According to the rep. at our last training meeting.

It's warm this morning 46* with wind out of the southwest at 10-15. Yesterday was nice it made it up into the low 60's and sunny. A cold front is going to come through some time today. With a chance of rain and snow showers.

The deer are rutting here. I went out for ride yesterday afternoon to see what we missed on the hunt this year. Seen about 10 bucks, one of them was close to 30 inch wide, a nice 4 point.
It was funny watching him chase the doe's around. He didn't care I was 75 yards away.

Need to try and organize some stuff in the garage today.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

35°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 71° today. Was 66° yesterday. Atypically warm temperatures for this time of year here.

Had a lot of reading to catch up from the last four days. I don't usually do much internetting when I'm at home. Wife keeps me much too busy for that.

Happy (belated) birthday, David. And, Happy Anniversary to Mr & Mrs wngsprd.

We had a few friends and some neighbors over for Thanksgiving on Thursday. We made and ate entirely too much food, and I am happy to report that I have enjoyed at least one turkey sammich every day since.

Wife and I put up the two Xmas trees on Friday, and some other odds and ends decorations around the house. She loves doing that, and I love to see her happy. Win-win.

We started seriously whittling down our stuff over the weekend, too. We've had essentially two households worth of stuff since we got married, and with her Grandmother's stuff now, too ... well, it's gotta go. Between the garage and the storage units, we took two truckloads of stuff to Goodwill yesterday, and she loaded her Sorento with even more to take today. The Great De-clutter of 2017 has begun.

Came into work this morning, and upon opening my office door instantly wondered why there was debris all over the place. Checked the ceiling tiles and they were OK. Then saw a hole in one wall and a scrape on the adjacent wall. Quickly concluded it was a bullet hole. A little looking around found a 9mm bullet sitting on the floor by the door. It came in through the outside wall just above the window of the Project Manager's office, went through the opposite wall into my office about 7' up, where it lost had lost enough energy to bounce around and land on the floor. There are bits of drywall all over the place on and behind my desk.
Apparently, I missed yet another rowdy weekend in North St. Louis City. :pessimist:

66°F and 1.06 inches rain. Looks like another wet one.

Need to make a dump run on way to town later. May run by HD to see if they still have that cooler on sale.

Be safe
Have a great day

PJ, that's wild. reminds me....
my first insurance office downtown in my little home town was right next to the jewelry store, which was owned by a not overly happy person who was determined not to buy jewelry insurance but instead to come well armed. He had a scatter gun under the counter, an automatic rifle somewhere, and a handgun that would have made Dirty Harry proud. My partner and I worried about what would happen if some poor fool came in that door to rob this guy; we knew the walls and sheetrock would not stop anything. A year later, we moved up the highway into our own detached building.

My stuff is so infantile compared to what RNG is working on, not like I can complain about complexity here...

The devil is always in the details, Drew. If the ROPS folds, you'll have to figure out a way to keep the wires from pinching at the hinge points. I wouldn't worry about drilling 1/2" diameter holes in the tubing, but try to keep them in the center so there's lots of meat all around. And use a rubber grommet in each hole to keep from cutting the wire.

BTW, I used the same kind of switches for auxiliary wiring in the Vanagon. Screwed up the connections the first time. The diagrams that came with them were not all that clear, at least to me, and I finally ended up using a multi-meter to figure out what terminal did what.

Thanks but Mom did not really want to learn something new right now so I'll give her some time.

It was really hard for my mom's boyfriend to see the utility of the Internet. It would have saved me a LOT of time and frustration if I could have emailed him documents and had him email me pictures of things, but that was of no concern of his. Paper and telephone were what he was used to, and anything more was just not worth the trouble for him. He was in his 80s when he passed on, and I think many people of that generation feel the same way. He was also having trouble with dementia, and that made learning anything a real challenge. At least your mom is just a short drive away, instead of 3/4 of the way across the country!

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 9:00AM. Considerable clouds this morning. Some decrease in clouds later in the day. High 51F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Maybe you can find a good deal on a bulletproof vest and helmet this Cyber Monday, PJ? :pullinghair:

Police had CA99 closed at Eaton road on the north side of Chico yesterday for a woman that was threatening to jump off the overpass. They were able to talk her out of it, and hopefully get her the help she needs. Sad, but this is what the holidays mean for way too many people...

Put oil back into the RT, then spent a great deal of quality time with the acid and steel tooth brush cleaning up the transmission case. Came out nice, but the oil/protectant I used at the end darkened it a little too much, and I might end up having to do it again. Now I have to decide if I want to do the engine the same way, or just use a strong detergent and the wire brush. And decide if I want to pull the engine out of the frame (it's pretty heavy) or just work around where it's at. So that's what I'll be doing today...

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Wow, everyone sure has a lot going on. Got the meeting done and UPS delivered my new table saw. Dewalt portable, weighs about 40 lb and would easy fit in the car. Ordered it from Amazon Thursday and also ordered two Craig skill saw guides from Home Depot, they are still processing my order. Not really important to me but if I had something I had to do and was waiting for it....... Been a nice lazy day.

PJ, Are you SURE you like your job? Sounds like you need a new job or a good insurance.

Have a great day. Ed

48F and partly cloudy @ 17:30.

Just finished sweeping the chimney up here at the shop. Was 55F when I got up here ... but it was pretty sunny today, 70F now inside.

Didn't seem all that dirty to me but sure seems to draw a lot better. Most of what I swept out has been sent back through and burned.

The job wasn't without a little bit of drama ... I had the brush and three sections of rod up the chimney and was pulling it back and went to take a rod off and got distracted and failed to grab the rod I was trying to unscrew from and took two off instead of one. Oops ...

Made a tool out of an old pegboard hook and managed to fish the last rod with the brush attached down to where I could reach it and pull it out.

SMH ...

I’m fighting the USPS, eBay and non responsive seller, I ordered a garage door opener to replace the one that shorted out and caught fire. Ordered on October 23, shipped on 10-25, last scanned in Jacksonville on the 28, after that it just says en route to destination. $149.95 in seller’s pocket.

Hope you guys are wrong on the weather predicting.. Lol

I'm having surgery tomorrow, so keep me in your prayers. Hopefully not a big deal, but you never know.

My neighbor returned my phd sunday while i was gone, put it back on my stand. I noticed he fixed it. Yrs ago, One of the cutting blades had gotten stuck on a rock, and bent down when i pulled it up. Since i hardly used it, i left it like that, and it still dug the occasional hole ok. It's great having a good neighbor.

For those interested in the weather our current western trough east ridge looks to break down around the 10th of December or so with a pretty good storm afterwards. SE look for rain mid Atlantic rain coast snow ice interior NE probably good dose of snow. Will have to wait and see if this change occurs

Was at the cabin in Meadows of Dan today.... Gorgeous weather, almost warm. Can't last too much longer. Trying to get a few more projects done.

You’re lucky Buckeye.

One of my “neighbors” told me he was looking into buying a rear finish mower. I told him that he could borrow mine for a couple of days to see how it worked for him.

He returned it two weeks later, when I wasn’t home one day. When I started to hook it back up, to my tractor, I noticed one of the rear wheels was lopsided. Upon closer inspection both bearings on that wheel were completely wiped out with only one of the bearing cages still even present, on shaft, it was destroyed. These are dual shielded 6340ZZ bearings.

When I asked him about it, he said it was fine when he returned it?

Note to self .......... another lesson learned.

Buckeye, best wishes for an easy tomorrow.
General anesthesia always makes one wonder...
If you are staying overnight, tell them you were approved for lobster.

did more chipping today, ran errands, seemed to get tired not doing much of anything.
Small combine next door picking the last of the soy beans on a dusty dry day.
I'll be back watering things tomorrow. For once I had hoped we would go into a rainy season
but it's been dry here for awhile. Which reminds me I need to walk back to the pond and take pictures.
When the water level is down it's very cool to see all the cyprus knees/root knobs. Still looking for that chest of Spanish
doubloons in there...
