I really thought about the 4wd but it adds thousands in cost and complexity. I stuck with the 2wd economy :)rolleyes:) model, but did add cruise control and a sunshade.

I'm going to try this for next year and hope my arms hold up. If not, the handwriting is on the wall.

these are pretty rare mowers on the used market so I know if I went to sell it, someday when I move from here, it will really hold its value.

Drew, is the mower you want available with a cab like this one? I would LOVE a cab to get away from all the dust. I would even splurge for the blinky yellow light.

15 going to 19. 40% chance of flurries and that is happening as I write.
Wind N 7 mph.

Daughter-in-law was bitching at my son yesterday about the condition of the driveway and the fact that I left a whole bunch of highs and lows in the snow. IF she wore her glasses she would have a better chance of seeing them. (Shes' been waiting for them for 6 weeks, mainly because the ophthalmologists secretary cannot seem to do what she is told.)
I have a hard time seeing them myself and I wear my glasses all the time.

The new puppy has the senior cats pissed off. To the best of my knowledge there have not been any 'little presents' left on pillows, yet. One of the newest cats brought home a mouse yesterday and I firmly believe it was for the pup.

I ordered a pair of moccasins from these guys Authentic Moccasin Shoes from Canada | Manitobah Mukluks last evening. if they are any good and the workmanship is there, then I will order a pair of mukluks.

I got nothing planned for today, so I might just have to go to North Bay for a cruise.

Have a good day, all.

Still in the mid 30' for the low this morning. Today it's going be partly cloudy this morning and sunny by the afternoon. We will be in the 50's today and a lite wind for a change.

Ed .. Happy Anniversary to you and your wife.

Making a trip to town this morning.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Wow, many of you are up early today.

Roy, are you off today? I am. That would be 5 days off for me!

Ed Happy Anniversary and prayers to you, your wife, mom and boy.

Drew, I'm sure the 2wd will work fine for you (since you have a "rescue Massey" handy).

Don, cab would have to have air conditioning, which would pull about 5 or 6 hp away from the engine. Might want to buy the highest powered model. The first things I put on when mowing are a filter face mask and some glasses that fit my face well, sealing out most dust. I would love to have cabs on everything....

Going to be a nice day here. Much to do.

Randy et all, if you lived closer, I'd invite y'all to our Friendsgiving Tamale Fest tomorrow. I even have 2 dozen blackbean tamales, but not sure if they were prepared "vegan" style.

Safe travels for those travelling.

24°F and some high thin clouds this morning, going up to 41° today. Made for a nice, colorful sunrise.

Got the last closet door installed last night. It's one of those simple folding doors for the closet at the bottom of the stairs. Turned out to be not so simple, though, as I had to cut it to size for the odd-sized door opening. It became a 90 minute task, replete with copious amounts of mumbling. In the end, though, all of the doors are now installed. Wife was pleased.

Looking forward to the four day weekend.

Pssst, don't tell PJS, but I used my readers to look at his beautiful music room pictures and I saw his readers. :)

Kyle, I'll keep it quiet, but did you notice the level too, alongside those readers ?

Is that how top QA musicians find the flat notes ?

Yeah, that's actually a relatively recent development. Wife got tired of watching me move stuff around to try to read the finer print, and handed hers to me one day a couple of months ago. She said the look on my face when I put them on pretty much said it all. So, I bought a few pair and scattered them around to the places where I read, including the studio. They are just the cheapie 1.0 from WallyWorld. Got a 4-pack for $11. Have a pair on my desk here at work, too. Everything focuses just fine, except up close reading. Eyes are getting old.

One thing I don't do, though, is walk with them on my nose. How on earth do people walk with bifocals? :confused2:

Yep, both bathrooms too. :) First it was 1.0's for me, then 1.5's, now 1.75's. I actually have a set of 3.0's for close up TIG welding. Now, my far away sight needs a smidge of help and I have gone to progressives. My eyes still work great from 2' to 10', but now I can read the Bridgeport mill's digital readout from 30' away with my new glasses. They really help with night time driving.

My 7 year old son, who is the pickiest eater in the world, just decided he likes pan sausage and eggs... I'll bet he ate 3 helpings. He's a skin flint.

I had dinner with a friend that lost his wife in 2010, we having a standing date on Tuesdays for dinner, we take turns choosing and paying.
My kids are coming over, along with some in laws and outlaws for Thanksgiving. They wanted to go ahead with the dinner their mom had planned, and I think they think dad is losing it. LOL

Happy anniversary Ed!

Good morning. 51˚ only heading to a sunny 60˚ as this cool front cools. The predicted low tomorrow morning will be 36˚, I'll take a chance of no frost and not cover the garden with hay because a warming trend starts Thursday.

Happy Anniversary Ed.

I submitted another review to costco leaving out the word "smoke" I'll see if I get another rejection e-mail from the moderator.
Maybe you should say the mixer is "literally smoking hot".

I was looking for some papers a couple of days ago and found some wedding day pictures, if I shouldn’t post them here, the mods can just remove them, but I felt like sharing.2189D326-8330-484B-B013-14241847A734.jpeg4E1FF086-28F8-4AD4-B9DB-BD493351E1F3.jpeg

Hot Tub redone but my timer didn’t turn off last night. Have to take a look. Can’t have all that electric being used at night.

Will be prepping for TDay.

Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 9:30AM. Partly cloudy. High near 70F. Winds light and variable.

The Pro model Kitchen Aide mixers seem to get good reviews at Amazon, Don. And the reconditioned ones sell for about the same price as the lower power one at Costco. Somewhere out there, I bet there'll be a Black Friday deal on one.

I've worn glasses almost all my life, PJ, and in the past ten or so years have had to go with progressive lenses as I can't seem to focus well at any distance anymore. The only real problems come from trying to focus at short distances while looking overhead, or at far distances while looking down. I have some safety glasses with cheater lenses in the top half, and they help a lot for the first case, but I can't tip my head down quite enough to make going down stairs or otherwise watching my feet comfortable. For that I use the hand rails a lot more often now.:confused2:

I was very happy and more than a little relieved to find that the long block on the engine had been completed at the mechanic's yesterday, and he got a stay of execution as a result. But then he started talking about needing another progress payment, and I made it very clear that unless he was so broke he couldn't pay for needed parts (there shouldn't be many), there wouldn't be any payments coming until the engine was smogged. My big concern is that there is the only kit that has been pre-approved by the California Air Resources Board includes a bell housing adaptor and muffler that we aren't using, but somehow he has the metal placard that comes in the kit and declares that the conversion is compliant. That's the magic that gets the Subaru past the smog inspectors without engaging in a very arbitrary ordeal with the smog referees. I was supposed to get an updated copy of the spreadsheet we're using to track progress and costs last night, but I suspect his updates are taking longer than he thought they would because he hasn't been using it for the last six months. My version shows that there's less than $1K balance due, and that's not enough incentive to keep him focused.

Finished the wheels on the old motorcycle yesterday morning, so today I move on to reconditioning the shock absorbers. Need to make some fancy screwdriver like tools to get them apart, so it should be an entertaining day.

I also need to get the salad dressing made for tomorrow's potluck, and get the lettuce and cherry tomatoes rinsed and ready to go...
