Thanks for all the suggestion on the computer device. Like Ron said the internet connection will determine a lot. $60 a month for wifi or $? for phone connection to a pad. The iPhones are too small for her and the screens too sensitive. Need to make a call to AT&T to check on internet service for a pad.

One of the things that helped my Mom get the feeling of using a computer was playing games. Solitaire and Mahjong are good ones. When using a pad use a stylus. Gets rid of the touchiness. On a PC use a trackball instead of a mouse. People that are unstable or with some shakes have a hard time with a mouse. Because cursor moves from location they want to click before they can click it.

Don, whatever device you get, consider showing your mum how to do just one thing well first, as she may find it confusing to take it all in at once and then be reluctant to use it. You can then show her a little more each time you visit and build up her confidence in trying new things.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 33° with clouds this morning. Heading to 46° with sun in afternoon. Spent the afternoon helping neighbor wrap his poolside Tiki Bar for the winter. 24X24 tarps to not play well in the wind. Need to install a hand grip for our whirlpool tub. Not safe getting in and out of it without one.

Today was Mrs Gas birthday, so wrapped her present while she napped, then gave it to her, a Keurig coffee maker.

Happy birth day Mrs Gas.

We also gave Mom a Keurig for her birthday against her objections, now she loves it. It's a single serving Keurig and you have to add a cup of water each time. She did learn that you must put at least 3/4 cup of water in it or it won't start brewing.

It is very similar to a iPad mini. But smaller 6” x 3 3/4”
IPad mini is 6 1/4” x 4 3/4”. It does all the things a iPad does. Key pad is smaller. Works on android.
I would take your Mom too a Best Buy and try different pads and pc’s.
I gave wrong info on my post of this info. I have 10” not 12” iPad.
Myself I like the Apple products better than Android for ease of use.
Sometimes AT&T has special deals on iPad’s for putting a new devise on account. Best to go to a factory store for these deals. You will not find them at franchise dealers. But may find them at Best Buy.
