considering a stump puller

I am thinking of buying a stump puller like the one below. The question is most of the videos I see they are on skid steers with a lot more lift, so would they be worth anything on a tractor with around 1600lbs lift capacity? Looking to pull stuff 4" or less in diameter.

For a tractor I recommend a puller that will also fit on the more powerful three point hitch: Buckthorn Puller - Custom built Skid Steer attachments to fit almost any need you may have.

I use a puller like the one you pictured often. 4" pine would be ok. 4" with a good root system is going to be a bit of work for your 2538.

I have one and use it all the time on my 2540. Worth it, even with the lift capacity of the smaller tractors. Lift and push and pull, and most things will pop right out. I've pulled dozens of 4x4's that were cemented in.

call me cheap.....lighter and can use with the 3Pt for more umph...
But is more labor intensive
