1025R vs BX2380

Yes it is. The loader capacities listed by Kubota were less than the Deere and the local Kubota dealer only used the SSQA loaders, which were even less. The Kubota dealer said their capacities where higher than advertised but I could never find anything in solid numbers. I looked at comparisons on youtube but couldn't find any comparisons of lift capacity between Deere and Kubota. The Messicks comparison was almost comical because they were so slanted towards the Kubota. While I didn't mind the forward and reverse pedals on the Kubota, I liked the side by side pedals on the Deere better. I liked being able to get a 53" bucket over the 48" or 49" Kubota bucket. I liked the lights situated on the fenders of the Deere. I also liked the position control on the 3 point hitch. I actually liked the looks of the Kubota better. These were just my thoughts and I understand that not everyone feels or thinks the same way as I do, which is why there are different brands.

Thanks, the 2 are so close in price and function as well as reputation that it really is a toss up. For me, the dealer is offering the BX25, FEL and BH, as well as the Land Pride grapple for 1930. I think that is a good deal. I do not think I could even come close to that price for the 1025r FEL and BH, let alone the grapple (which JD cannot accommodate)

FWIW, my BX2670, my FEL will lift over 800# in landscape blocks on a pallet... but it's how high you want to go up that limits it. Last week I lifted and carried a 22" diameter blue spruce log over 12' long. Once I tried to load it on a dump trailer, it needed to be cut in 1/3's. The tree guys estimated it at over 800#. Not sure how accurate that is. Woodweb estimates it at over 1,200# for black spruce. I know the dimensions are correct.

What part of MD do you live? I am getting the 1025r from PA. It may be at least worth the call. I stopped at the dealer just to say I covered my all my bases before I bought the Kubota. Then he gave me their price and I kept driving myself crazy trying to decide.

Just got back from my final SCUT shopping trip. Finally, decision made: (drum roll...) Went with the BX2380. Here's the rest of the story -

Today, I drove the LS MT125, and I must say, it is a robust unit! Had my previous price points not changed, that would have been my choice. But....

Called some new dealers, and found a couple VERY aggressive KB dealers offering big discounts. I scored a new 2017 BX2380 w/FEL for $12800 (b/f tax). That's within $200 of the LS. The KB was always my favorite, if I didn't consider price. However, it had previously been +$1600 to the LS, & +$1200 to the 1023E, & I didn't feel it was THAT much better. But now cheaper than the 1023E, and within $200 of the LS, yes, I feel it is the best *value* for me.

So, happy to be moving forward, hope to have in my garage soon!

That seems to be a great deal on a brand new model! The BX2380 has a lot of very nice features and 3rd party attachment support that I don't think the LS has. Maybe I should have spent more time talking to Kubota dealers to see what discounts were available.

Im also debating between the bx2380 and 1025r. was also considering mahindra emax 22 ( any thoughts on mahindra?). I drove both today but was more impressed with the deere. First impressions upon seeing them both I thought the JD looked more like a tractor and less like a lawnmower on steroids. I didn't like the "sweet spot" on the loader stick as opposed to the easy dual action on the BX. The bucket on the deere pulled up quicker at idle too. The kubota dealership i went to said that kubota has mandatory insurance throughout the life of the loan and I did the math, like $1800!! whereas the JD guy said that was ridiculous and it is covered under our homeowner insurance already. Thanks for all the great info guys....first time post.

Yeah, I was really surprised the quote came in that low! Crazy to think almost $3000 difference among dealers for the same thing.

yeah that is part of the financing terms. I have to provide them with my insurance info and agent info. I will double check that though. thanks

No, KUBOTA specific insurance is not a requirement by Kubota. THAT is a sales gimmick. I have financed five Kubota's and NEVER bought Kubota Insurance. My homeowners covers my tractor.
That said, discuss what is covered if you take your tractor off your property, first.
It might not be covered... especially if you accept payment for work using the tractor. A good neighbor event might not matter.

lol. That just gives me one more reason to lean towards JD. Im going to try to get my current quote (17150.00) lower before I think about pulling the trigger. Judging on what i hear on these posts, these salesmen have a lot more wiggle room then they let on to believe.

Congratulations! That is a really good price. Make sure you post some pics when you get it.

So, I was told that I needed Flood insurance on my homeowner's as well as coverage outside of my property. I called State farm and they said we cover the tractor, on and off of your property. But they don't do flood insurance. I live about 2000 feet above sea level and there is no flood plain. Is the Kubota guy trying to railroad me? The tractor is a great deal, I really like the third implement with the grapple, but I hate predatory sales folks.

I actually live right on the line, southern York county pa. I went to Atlantic tractor and they were good folks, but if you think there is a cheaper direction I'm all ears. What part of pa do you live? I don't mind travel for a better deal

Thanks! Absolutely will. Hoping to get it by weekend, or early next week.

I also went to the atlantic tractor in whiteford. I think I'm going to try the atlantic in delaware to avoid the $1,076.00 in sales tax. there is one right in newark. not too far from us . The folks at JD said not to worry about insurance at all and that its totally covered under homeowners. That doesn't really give me a great feeling towards the kubota dealership.

/ 1025R vs BX2380 #37
Yep, that's where I went. The folks were super nice and the sales guy(Rick) was very knowledgeable and thorough. Have you looked into Kubota at all? Kubota was willing to give me all of the cash rebates, even with 0% financing at 84 months as long as I put 20% down. JD was willing to give 84 months at zero, but took away all of the rebates or reductions

Yes, I literally drove directly from hickory kubota to Atlantic. At kubota he offered me the same deal as you except he mentioned that scammy sounding insurance. Plus I was looking at the bx2380. Which isn't backhoe compatable. I went to Atlantic and talked to Bryan and he offered me the 84 months at 0% with 10% down. And he also gave me about 2k in discounts and whatnot. I'm still gonna try to take me quote to Delaware and see if they would give me the same deal but no tax 👍👍

I tried the Kubota in hickory also, they were pretty high I went to Messicks in Abbottstown. They have a pretty good package for sale. They are way cheaper than hickory. Their pack age has me ready to go, but the insurance thing is not sitting right

For what it is worth, I bought insurance through the JD dealer and it was added to my package. The total cost of the insurance was $220 for the entire period I am making payments. If I pay it off in 3 years, the insurance is done. My plan is to take full advantage of the 0%. That is with a $250 deductible. My Kubota dealer said that Kubota Finance would accept my homeowners insurance if I specifically added the tractor and listed Kubota Finance. That cost according to my insurance agent would have been about $50 a year. fran35, I was asking where you lived in case you were close to me. I was going to recommend a JD dealer but it sounds like you have one close by that is pretty good. I live in Western MD but bought from a dealer in SW PA.
