Re: The WICKED Root & Debris GRAPPLE!!!!!!!

I actually would. Too bad we live a little too far apart. In the woods I'm pretty sure I would win. In the middle of a field I have way less of an advantage. I don't think you could run with the speed of my dirt moving either.

In the woods on my trails you couldn't even follow me, because the V417 is narrower and not as tall as your SLV95-2s.

I don't think you could run with the speed of my dirt moving either.
Not sure what you mean by that. My top speed is 15.5 mph, more than twice that of yours and my bucket is 1 cubic yard. It has moved a lot of dirt.

I meant time to complete the job. Unless you're trying to move dirt hundreds of yards at which point id use a dump truck I'm not sure where top speed plays into it.

I'll be your huckleberry :D, I see the Achilles heel in that setup. (just havin' fun now)

No, I won't spill. You'll have it sprung upon you at the Wicked Root Grapple Battle Royale 2017! (WRGBR 2017)

We need "T" shirts....All to promote EA and their most awesome #1 Wicked Root Grapple!!!

A few points:

1) EA can advertise any way they want. However, this is a discussion forum so commentary is always appropriate. EA doesn't encourage improper use generally and is always quite clear in their videos when they are attempting to abuse or exceed recommended limits. No bones to pick there. As noted, I do think they should be more careful about bragging that their narrow tine grapple can be more efficient as a root rake as that isn't what CUT loaders are designed to do.

2) If I am guilty of stressing the same points over and over again then I guess you wide dual lid folks are just as guilty.

3) There is a dual vs single lid issue in the sense that anyone trying to choose the most appropriate grapple for their budget wouldn't want to waste money on unnecessary features or size. PLEASE FIND ME A TBN SINGLE LID GRAPPLE OWNER who "traded up" to dual because single just didn't work well enough.

4) Same request regarding narrow grapple owners who were dissatisfied and traded up to a 72". (There are a number of folks who have added a narrower grapple to their collection after first buying a wide one).

5) Consensus on tractor size is based on common scenario where someone buys a small CUT and then trades up. Where is the evidence that folks who buy small grapples trade up?????

Enjoy your grapple! :)

OK, but EA needs to donate their biggest baddest grapple to the winner.

Does anyone want to duel the 72" Monster Grapple? :D

Is that a plaque on a concrete monument in the 2nd picture? Story that goes with it?

Yep, it is a brass plaque near the top of the dam, this is what is on it:

How about greatest jaw opening to grapple width ratio???? :D:D

I've got 42" opening and 48" width so my Millonzi contestant grapple ratio is 0.875. Who can beat that???;)

Unfortunately EA isn't going to win with that criteria as their original compact had only ?30" opening and the modified version has only 37". Sad. No wonder they sell so many dual lids....30+30=60" opening:eek:.

Enjoy your grapple! :)

No problem. Enjoy it every time I use it.

Where's my list of dissatisfied owners of narrow single lid grapples? Must be taking longer than expected to find the evidence.

I like your measuring scale. My duel lid exceeds the width.

Cool! Has it ever filled up?

Yep, after any heavy rain.

From the dam. That is the anti-cavitation pipe sticking up from the overflow structure:

interesting. I assume that is iron in the water from your soil?

Nope, it is red clay. Here is the base of the anti-cavitation pipe and the silted in overflow structure:

Hi Jack,
As we wait for a grapple picture, red clay comes from iron as far as I know. Maybe someone can post a grapple picture with red clay mud on it.
:D

Right, it does and I just learned that at 77 years old.
