Good Morning! 44F @ 8:00AM. Cloudy early with isolated thunderstorms developing this afternoon. High around 50F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
A strong cell dropped almost half an inch of rain at dinner time yesterday, which overtopped the rain gutter on the back of the house and let me know it's time to clean the darn thing out again. The strong winds we had the other day probably blew a bunch of pine needles over the house and into the gutter, and they're long enough to bridge the rather small drain hole that leads to the downspout. Hopefully by now enough water has leaked past to save my hand a dip into icy water to clear them out.
I'm a big fan of hot air popcorn poppers, Don, but I think I'll stick to the propane BBQ for meat. Just something about that smokey flavor that I'd miss, but I probably wouldn't miss the greasy mess inside an air fryer, another advantage of the fatless diet. Which reminds me, there's a rack of baby backs in the frig I've been meaning to put in the smoker...
Finished the taxes yesterday, but try as I might, the Interwave gods denied me the satisfaction of e-filing. Gave up and just left TurboTax running, then tried again this morning at around six and it went through on the second try. And I just got a emails that both returns have been accepted. What the Feds giveth, the California Franchise Tax Board taketh away, so I came out about even. Not that anybody ever comes out even when it comes to taxes, but I won't go there for fear of being censored again.
If I can manage to redrill the hole for mounting the speedo without stripping it, I'll clean and reassemble the instruments for the van today. I have a kit that will replace the blue foil conductors, many of which are broken, and green LEDs to replace all the bulbs. That and the gutter and the smoker should be enough to keep me busy for the rest of the day, but hopefully I can wedge a nap in there somewhere, too.
Have a great weekend, gang!
