Good morning!!!!

Good Morning! 44F @ 8:00AM. Cloudy early with isolated thunderstorms developing this afternoon. High around 50F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

A strong cell dropped almost half an inch of rain at dinner time yesterday, which overtopped the rain gutter on the back of the house and let me know it's time to clean the darn thing out again. The strong winds we had the other day probably blew a bunch of pine needles over the house and into the gutter, and they're long enough to bridge the rather small drain hole that leads to the downspout. Hopefully by now enough water has leaked past to save my hand a dip into icy water to clear them out.

I'm a big fan of hot air popcorn poppers, Don, but I think I'll stick to the propane BBQ for meat. Just something about that smokey flavor that I'd miss, but I probably wouldn't miss the greasy mess inside an air fryer, another advantage of the fatless diet. Which reminds me, there's a rack of baby backs in the frig I've been meaning to put in the smoker...

Finished the taxes yesterday, but try as I might, the Interwave gods denied me the satisfaction of e-filing. Gave up and just left TurboTax running, then tried again this morning at around six and it went through on the second try. And I just got a emails that both returns have been accepted. What the Feds giveth, the California Franchise Tax Board taketh away, so I came out about even. Not that anybody ever comes out even when it comes to taxes, but I won't go there for fear of being censored again.

If I can manage to redrill the hole for mounting the speedo without stripping it, I'll clean and reassemble the instruments for the van today. I have a kit that will replace the blue foil conductors, many of which are broken, and green LEDs to replace all the bulbs. That and the gutter and the smoker should be enough to keep me busy for the rest of the day, but hopefully I can wedge a nap in there somewhere, too.

Have a great weekend, gang!

67°F and no rain

New adventure - Kekoa and I start 8 weeks of puppy classes this morning. Never taken a pup to training before. Could be interesting.

Be safe
Have a great day.

You'll like your classes David, pay attention, take good notes, and you'll
get a Kahlua and creme dogbone when you're done ;)
sounds like fun and good bonding
and might save some chewing on electric cables

got the truck hooked up to the rv and parked up front, lot of truck and rv washing today, back hurts from that.
Glad to see no water is coming out of odd places and am headed out shortly to make sure the hot water heater is on the job. Was pleased with how clean it was inside, thing is pretty well closed up and not much way for dirt to get in.
I look for cobwebs though, bugs will find a way, particularly I think with the slides not fully extended as they are now. Despite being under a shed I must have hosed five pounds of pine pollen off the rv. Changed color from yellow to white. I put it away clean in and out so it's just easier to get going again.

Headed to Wilmington NC on Tuesday to stay at KOA there for a few days, where I've been before, and then in mid May off to the beach at Hatteras, Outer Banks. Need to get these trips in before the summer crowds arrive.

Boy...that brings back fond memories!! That was a great place to eat and a great drive (I lived north of Baltimore when I first went there and in south-central PA the other times). I always liked eating there for Sunday morning brunch. We went to the Washington Monument too (with the girl I was dating at the time).

I took my sister there for Sunday morning brunch (her birthday). At the time, I had a Porsche 911S. So, that was a nice ride on a beautiful morning. On the way home, we took I-70 (not the prettiest route, but the quickest) and were moving along at a rather rapid pace since there was little traffic on a Sunday morning. We passed a little Honda at a good clip and as we went over a rise, the radar detector started blasting. Well, not only are Porsches fast, they have incredible brakes! Good thing, since when we topped that rise, it must have been every state cop in Maryland setting on the median. I got down to the limit (this was in the days of the national 55 MPH speed limit). As we approached those cops, one walked into the lane and, I figured I was busted. Well, didn't pull me over, but got that little Honda we had blasted by. Whew!!!!
About 2 or 3 miles past the speed trap, I see headlamps and the rotating lights of a MD state police car rapidly approaching behind me. Yep...he pulled me over and claimed I was clocked by "aerial surveillance" . The ticket was for 70 in a 55...well, no real complaints since they must of nailed me as I was slowing down. I had been doing at least 20 MPH more then 70.
That was my last trip to the Old South Mountain Inn, BTW...but not because of the ticket.

They actually use both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft for speed enforcement in many states, and have since the 60's.

Had a great car show at the old train station in Hebron, MD. Raised a few bucks for charity. Got down to 38° this morning, low 60's this afternoon, strong winds all day.

I'm still trying to figure out how the Osokool works. Peltiers are not very efficient and require voltage. They are neat if you need one in certain situations.

Rodeo tonight, just across the road. Debating on taking the kids over there.
They have about 20-30 plus bulls penned up in the back.

Just took the kids out back and picked about a gallon of really nice dewberries.
