Good morning!!!!

cooler day today, but not like Roy's...and perhaps I will truly be an April Fool, but I planted five tomato plants yesterday. Plus dug five holes and planted some evergreens, took the water roller to the entire nut orchard to try to dampen some back bouncing ruts in there, mowed all the roadsides with the Massey and finish mower and lastly then pulled a spring dethatcher over my entire lawn. Came in after 6pm after going out at 7:20am. Going to write myself up for some overtime...

I expect to work in the barn today cutting metal for my mower project. Picked up some more sheet metal from TSC yesterday so I should have all that I need. Wish I had a bending brake but just don't use one often enough to warrant it. I suppose I could rig something up with some 2x4's. I need to bend a piece about 5 inches wide so shouldn't be too hard. Since I have a metal edge on my workbench, think I will clamp it down and work against that edge; need about a 30 degree angle.

Hawkeye, hope your wife is doing better. My SIL spent three days in the hospital with blood poisoning from a little cut while gardening. Keep that cut clean...and yes, she has now earned the remote for a day...;)

Had to recently order some new pants; old ones were falling off. Very good feeling.

40 going to 66.

Randy, congrats on the weight loss.

Roy, pretty snow, but I'm sure not a welcome one...fingers crossed it's your last of the season.

Hawkeye, sorry about all your troubles...hoping for a better day today for you.

Kyle, glad to hear your turkey story and glad you left them some space.

Started installing my 3rd function on the FEL yesterday and got all the hydraulics and valve finished...no leaks! Turned out to be a longer job than I planned due to such tight clearances when having to use 18, 20 and 22mm wrenches on many fittings. Next will be wiring the electronics and installing the new grip. Grapple delivery still about 2 to 3 weeks out.

Myla made a nice big pot of chili last night for her parents, our oldest son and wife and us to enjoy before watching the Tar Heels win.

Thx, she was doing great until we found the main bathroom flooded and septic backed up. I turned off water to toilets, She used wet vacuum to get water up while I checked into what the backup was caused by. 3 chamber tank needs pumped, first chamber crust plugged inlet (wife and daughter helped dig out top of tank and pull cover on first chamber).

Hawkeye, just wondered if you had a hearing tests recently ?

Doc said she needed some antiseptic - not empty the septic and I suggested you pamper her, not find poop for her !

Good morning all. Well today is looking better, after a day of heavy April showers yesterday. Only managed to get outside and inspect which trees were breaking bud with my grandson for a short while before the rain chased us back in. A tiny plastic ninja warrior and an old single-to-dual lighter socket adapter(that was really a miniature spaceship ?) was all that a 6 year old with a bit of imagination needed to keep happy for the rest of the day.

Off to help friends excavate soil for a new barn this afternoon - they unexpectedly found out steel erectors coming Monday morning.

Gee Roy, that looks a lot like snow!

It was a lot of snow! About 8-10 inches before it compressed....wet and heavy too. Fortunately, it was warm enough yesterday to melt any snow I missed on the drive, walks and deck. More should melt today since it's supposed to hit close to 50.

45 out this AM. Headed back to the hardware store this AM when the sun gets higher. The mowing season is off to a rough start this year. The got to be over 20 Craftsman finally blew up. She was burning copious amounts of oil, had her wheels replaced. The handle too, plus a blade and numerous pull ropes over the years. She slowed to an idle on a cut run and went out with a bang. An honorable death.

One wonders if this next one will last, the standard for longevity is a high bar to follow, now.

Have a great day all, be safe. It looks to be glorious for today, in my parts. I hope the fair weather catches up to the rest of you soon.

32F now low 50's for high.
Yesterday snow storm of 11" seem like double the work when it wet/heavy.
Frontend loader did  job pushing piling snow didn"t rough up driveway to much, even did neighbor top half of there driveway so least they could get in/out.
If April showers bring May this should be interesting.

Today take Mrs. food shopping than low profile day.

Enjoy the day all.

Just got in from shredding about 8-10 acres. I was going to try and shred in our bottom land below the tank, but I went through there and almost ran over a mother hen wild turkey sitting on her nest. She flushed out just as the front tire was going past her. 2 feet over and I would have ran over the whole nest and man, would I have felt bad. Anyway, I was startled. I've seen a turkey here maybe 12 years ago, but never seen them nest. I will let that area remain wild to hopefully get a small flock going. I recently saw a flock of them about 3-4 miles from here.

Kyle, I was working in the shop a couple of days ago and looked down and a turkey hen was standing beside me. She was completely tame and I had to shoo her out of the shop with a broom.

I'm guessing she's looking for a place to nest but, it won't be in my shop!
