My 2011 F250 with the 6.2L towing my 18' car hauler with 5200 lbs axles.

That's a VERY nice looking truck. Esthetically I'd love to do a small lift like that but I have problems doing things just for appearances. But dang it looks cool.

Thanks! It's just a 3 inch lift and I added air bags in the back. Lifts are relatively cheap for the 3/4 tons because of the solid front axle. Also since that photo I've rhino lined both bumpers and painted the grill black. Never was a big fan of chrome.

I bet that looks very nice.

I dig the old Massey with the loader. Not too many of those rolling around any more.

Took delivery of new L47TLB the other day. Loaded her in 14' PJ low pro dump for the ride home. A few folks warned of transporting in dump trailer. Other than lashing tractor in a very cramped space, I experienced no other problems. Once load was secured, I drove/towed at 10 -25 mph braking hard, no problems. Once on highway and up to speed, I changed lanes, swerving from side to side from 50-75 mph in 5 mph increments. She tracked perfectly, with no sway. Stopped after 10 miles, checked load and she was tight.
Although the dump is adequate to transport tractor, I am now looking at 20' tilt equipment trailer. Narrowed down choices to Another PJ, Lamar, or Great Northern ( locally built).
Any and all comments welcome.

Finally got everything home! Only thing missing in the pic is the huge box blade.

Sounds like you were using common sense; IMO that is 80% of safe towing.

Here, I believe the regs are that all equipment parts (ie. attachments) have to be supported by the trailer. State regs will vary, but I'd be surprised if Cali didn't have a similar requirement - good idea to get the longer decked trailer.

Adequate is not necessarily Legal. Not criticizing your run/pull :), just my :2cents: to help you avoid donating extra taxes to your State. Here, transportation fines are hefty.

Enjoy the TLB, safely.
